who's played five nights at freddy's?

it's strange to me how popular it's gotten, I actually heard about it just 2 days after it came out. its got that rundown 90s kids pizzeria feel to it which is why i think people like it so much.

Re: who's played five nights at freddy's?

I played the first night. It's basically the new Slender, except I actually consider this game to be scary and not just jumpscare scary. I haven't actually lost or seen what happens when you do, because I didn't want to play after the first night tongue
Pretty much, you're a guy in night watch at Freddy's, which is a kid's pizza place, basically Chuck E. Cheese's if you've heard of that. You get a phone call telling you about the animatronic mascots of Freddy's. I forget most of them, but I do remember Chica, Foxy, and, well, Freddy. You have the ability to close the doors in your room, watch the cameras to see where the mascots are, and turn on the lights outside of your room to see if they're about to stuff you inside of their suit and slaughter you (this is how they actually kill you.) However, using cameras and keeping doors closed costs power, which you can lose fairly quickly if you don't know what you're doing. Halfway through the first night, a friend told me that I had power usage and I was like "OH *bleep*" because my power was at about 25%. Occasionally, a camera will go to static, and a mascot will appear in the view. Honestly, I think the game could've ran on the Sega CD with a bit of compression. There is little to no animation in it at all, however it does do the fear/scary atmosphere of the game well.

If you like horror games, give it a shot. Like I said, it's the new Slender, except I could actually beat Slender easily without wanting to stop.

Watch this video. XD

I'd rather watch someone play it, I wouldn't be able to think if I tried to do it myself...

I can't play it because I will crap my pants and cry and scream, jump scares and I DO NOT mix.

{ Video removed - Sorry, but this gets really inappropriate around the end... }

Really nsfw language, but I love this guy. He's probably my favorite let's player on youtube. He donates all of his youtube funds to charity, uploads once a week or so, and his reactions to things are hilarious only because he hardly reacts at all. He's only laughed in a video once.

I would honestly be too scared to play a game like that...haha. If there's one genre of game or movie I can't stand, it's horror.

Re: who's played five nights at freddy's?

Quite the contrary for me. I love horror. I hate newer horror movies, though. None of them are what I'd really call "horror." Mostly just "wait for the jumpscare" movies. Same goes for some new horror games, this one included. Amnesia is a good example of a horror game (even if it's name was tarnished by pewdiepie,) because it does not consist entirely of cheap jumpscares for it's horror. It lets the player know that around any corner could be a threat even though the majority of the time, it's nothing.
Slender is considered a horror game, but it is not at all.
Strategy for Slender: go to the house first, grab that paper, then run out and go to straight to the area with containers of stuff, and grab that paper. These are the only areas you need to know, because the others are very open and easy to find without needing to turn around. Also, never turn around. It's that simple.

tl;dr: oi m8 i like horror new movies aren't horror amnesia is horror FNaF ain't horror and neither is slender

Re: who's played five nights at freddy's?

I could never play this game and enjoy it. Seriously, jump scares are the scariest form of scare possible when it comes to me. Heck, even when I was watching someone else play this game on YouTube, I chickened out and read the comments.

Re: who's played five nights at freddy's?

i saw gameplay of it and i'm honestly not sure what to think. just sitting there in the room seems boring, and i mean, it does succeed in scaring me, even just watching YT videos, but it's ... just jump scares and generic creepy stuff.

so it fulfills its purposes, but at the same time just... doesn't meet what i'd expect out of it, given the hype.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l18A5BOTlzE I found this yesterday while surfing the web, it's a well done remix done by The Living Tombstone. Also the lore behind Five Nights is really messed up neutral

Re: who's played five nights at freddy's?

I beat night 4. The game is actually quite fun once you know what you're doing. However, it is definitely bull*bleep*. It took me many, many tries to get past night 2, since I either got screwed by Bonnie or Foxy every single time. However, I got past night 3 and night 4 first try, easily. Haven't tried night 5 yet, but I'm expecting to probably die a few times. If I beat it, maybe I'll do night 6, then 7.

edit: night 5 is hard ;((

Re: who's played five nights at freddy's?

Even if I played the game I wouldn't want to get past night 5, simple because it's no longer a scary game, just frustrating. Frustrating games are no longer fun.

Re: who's played five nights at freddy's?

Frustrating can be fun in a game when you overcome the challenge... if the game is fair. Not sure if that's the case with this game though since I've never played it, and only seen a few minutes on Youtube.

Re: who's played five nights at freddy's?

Holy balls night five is hard. I got horrible RNG and ended up getting Foxy running down the hallway at 12:00 AM, then Freddy was in the kitchen at barely 1:00 AM.

also, this video

Edit:
this pic is the truth
DN9jmRp.jpg

Edit 2:
I BEAT NIGHT FIVE. And six. Once I knew the strat, it was actually really, really easy. I am definitely not going for a 4/20 run, though. Not now, at least. I don't think I can dedicate the time to that.

What the heck ... this FNaF stuff is everywhere ... on DeviantArt, on Steam, in Garry's Mod already as playermodels and such. Good grief. Look:

Re: who's played five nights at freddy's?

blame the furries

Despite it being infested with furries, I do like some of the stuff the community created, and I especially like how the game left some open ended stuff in the little plot given for people to theorize. I read some theory the other day that the dead children stuffed inside each suit act out the characteristics of the animatronics in-game, them being scared of and hating the security guards, they want to kill you. However, they don't simply walk right in because they're scared of you. This would explain why Bonnie and Chica only attack you when you're distracted (in the cameras,) why Freddy stays dark in the camera, and why Foxy stays in Pirate Cove then runs straight down the hallway as fast as he can.
