Reality TV

:-P Don't act like you don't enjoy at least one!

Well its a thing, and seems to be getting larger and larger, now most reality shows I think are just trashy and dreadful, for example I HATE the talent shows and the "high life" types, you know like X factor and the real housewife of new York or whatever, but I do admit I can watch the...trashy shows. You know like Here comes Honey boo boo and Hardcore Pawn, they are just guilty pleasures of mine, and to be honest I don't even think Honey Boo Boo was as bad as everyone made it out to be when it first came out, I mean at the end of they day its a family that love each other and make the best they can of life, and I'd rather see that on TV than a bunch of spoilt teens b*** how they got the wrong Ferrari for there half-birthday.

I don't really watch much reality TV. Stormy and I watched An Idiot Abroad recently, so that's probably the closest thing to it I've ever watched.

I really do have to agree with 36 and say I don't think there's one reality show I've seen that I enjoyed.

I sometimes watched a czech reality show where the families switched Mothers for a week or two. That was sometimes interesting.

They call that Wife Swap 'round these parts. My mom used to watch the American version of that.

Re: Reality TV

Not going to to lie, I haven't voluntarily watched TV for years, aside from sports. One of my roommates wants us to pay for TV, and it's ridiculous how expensive it is for what little you get (and what's actually good). I'll just stick to the internet. Less commercials. tongue

Man, I can't take a single work break without someone having the darn TV on. So most of my break consists of TV commercials instead of relaxation.

Though I did find Guitar Center Sessions on one day and a band played live then sat down to talk, it was nice.

Re: Reality TV

Yeah, that gets really annoying. Some people literally have it ingrained in their minds that they have to have the TV on when there's one in the room. I had a roommate sophomore year that turned the TV on every time he was in the living room, didn't matter if he was even watching it or not. He didn't turn it off either when he left either.

I'm sure there are a few gems out there in terms of shows, but I couldn't be bothered to try and find them.

I don't like "that guy" either, but luckily he wasn't present for most of the show. He was in the beginning first few minutes of episodes and called every once in a while to check in. His sense of humor and laugh are both so annoying. tongue

Have to say, I felt pretty bad for Carl at some points because he occasionally said things that made sense, but Ricky would just make fun of him anyway without even thinking about it.

Re: Reality TV

Yeah I don't like Ricky Gervais either. He's an *bleep* and he's not really that funny. Karl though is hilarious.

Also Ricky and Steven Merchant were both so pretentious. Karl is the only one on the show who is even remotely humble.

Jersey Shore, Teen Mom, Catfish I've seen bad reality TV. But it's not all bad all the time.

TV's plots are going downhill these days. There are some good ones but sometimes not so much.

It makes me think how sad someones life must be when they say "can't wait for goggle box tonight!" So you can't wait to watch people watching TV. How very sad :-[.

I haven't seen that show but that sounds like a very accurate description of Game Grumps at least.
