Re: Art / Drawing
^ Agreed. I'm still not very good at drawing, so I still try to use references or remember as best I can what they're supposed to look like. But I'd really like to have my own style. Even just a different way of drawing eyes or something like that.
SFL, your OC has really similar colors to Flash Sentry, the ~love interest~ in Equestria Girls. (I just drew him the other day, only reason I remember, I swear!
) Cool pony art!
And yes, Geko, you should post yours.
Yeah, she kinda does, but I made her before Equestria Girls came out. And the dragon that was her inspiration had that color scheme for like five years before hand. LOL
And yes, glad you noticed the tufts of hair, Swaffy. I think it makes them look much better. Though I added them to Orlene in particular to give her that ruffled sort of look, like she never bothers to brush it.
Lemme see if I have another of her...
Ah yes, here she is being unimpressed with two of her students:
Horse anatomy is hard guys.

Re: Art / Drawing
I don't know if double-posting is still discouraged, but as it's been a while since this thread has updated, I figured I could post something I've done recently...
Here's that comparison of Oryps and Orlene I mentioned.

I don't mind the double-posting. But I'm not a mod. XD
I'm loving your art!

Orlene reminds me of a shiny Ponyta! ![]()
Btw, double posting is fine as long as the posts are a reasonable length of time apart. So a couple hours might be okay, but if it's only a couple minutes, just edit.

ahhh I had to Google what shiny Ponyta looks like, and you're right, she kinda does.
Neat. Also it's kinda fitting because I bet her hooves are pretty hard too, just like those of a Ponyta or Rapidash.
And okay, I'll keep that in mind.
To Swaffy, thanks.
I don't really drawn anything else I like recently, but if I do, I'll share it.

Re: Art / Drawing
I got to Googling it too, I see what you mean. I actually think I like that
character. I guess because it is a horse and has fire ... mainly horse.
Maybe it's the coloring.
Here, I found this, it's like a unicorn/horse version of Ponyta:

For those who aren't following me on DeviantArt (or can't view it), I uploaded this one today:
Two things I really love: beautiful dreamy scenes and dragons. Good dragons that is, not those evil ones.
1920x1080 resolution for those who like my terrible art enough to use it.
[Update] Fixed the clouds.

Thank you~!
PaintToolSAI is my weapon of choice. Although it's extremely limited in comparison to Photoshop, it's a lot more user friendly.

Re: Art / Drawing
Nice drawing. I've tried to use GIMP for art but everything's just so different than Photoshop CS5 and I get lost really easily. I've never tried SAI before.

Here's something I drew. Yeah, my style's a bit odd, but...
The bottom right corner is blurred because I signed it with my full name.

Re: Art / Drawing
I try to... yet there's so much pressure around me on art websites that want me to draw either anime or realism. And I'm crappy at both. And I have no desire to learn how to do either. So I shall remain crappy at them. ![]()
Well, Vincent van Gogh... he didn't follow the artistic norms at the time.
When people see my art, or at least people my own age, they're like "Yeah... um... I really like it... Um... eh... it looks nice."
Anyways... here's something else I drew:

Re: Art / Drawing
Thought I would update on this thread. One drawing I did that I've had on my DA for a bit (again, for those who cannot browse DA), and one screenshot of something I've been building in GMod.
Here is my latest drawing:
And here is a truck/trailer/boat I've been working on in Garry's Mod. The truck has working lights, doors, suspension, steering. The trailer and the boat will be working similar to a real one.
Last time I checked, this build was over 430 props. A bunch of small, carefully rotated and positioned objects to make up the curves and angles you see. The only one piece large object is the boat's hull.

i don't use Garry's Mod but i imagine that'd be pretty difficult to make. 430 different things.

Re: Art / Drawing
As far as I can tell, you make awesome drawings
I'm not really into visual art, I prefer music. That's why I'm learning to play guitar, even singing whatnot.
Well, actually, there is some sort of visual art I'm capable of. Of course, I'm talking about Stencil Art - or Stencil Graffiti to be more precise.

*bleep*, that's really cool. I like to think I'm a good builder, but then I see stuff like this and it makes me reconsider. The best things I've built have probably been some bases in DarkRP servers; if I really don't want people to get in, I apply props within the walls of the map that make the base unable to be broken into by RPGs and also make parkour minigames for people to reach the keypads. It reaches the point where no one can raid me and if anyone tries to, I simply let them try the minigame. They never finish.
I'm not sorry if I offended you.
