Regardless of if you like anime, I still have to recommend this one

Attack on Titan/Shingeki no Kyojin

I've really been on a high for this show since Stormy and I finished watching it, and I highly recommend it! Assuming you are okay with violence and a very dark plot that is...

It's got none of the stuff that people tend to hate about anime. No fanservice-y characters/outfits for one thing, in fact most characters have a very realistic build and way of dressing.

I can't say too much about the plot for fear of spoilers, but it takes place in a fictional city that appears to be inspired/based on something you'd find in Germany. The characters all have German names, and the architecture looks very German. All of humanity is basically holed up in this city surrounded by giant walls to protect the people from Titans, super creepy man-eating giants. The story mostly focuses on a group of cadets who join the military, some to fight back against the titans, and others to earn the right to join the Kingsguard/Military Police (depending on the translation) and get within the luxury and safety of the inner-most walls.

I struggled to find a good clip that:
a) Was spoiler free
b) wasn't too bloody
c) represented the sort of feel the show has

So don't watch any of the recommended videos or else one of those three things might be for nothing tongue

Spoiler'd because there is still some bloody violence.

Re: Regardless of if you like anime, I still have to recommend this one

I've never found an anime that I liked to this day, and I have seen this one. They all seem too overly dramatic for me. The way some of the characters will... make random noises for no reason.. or something.. is another thing I don't like. Also, I really don't like the art style, especially with the way the faces look, and that's pretty much unavoidable in any kind of anime, so there's probably not any anime out there I'd enjoy. Not to say I don't like people watching it; I'm fine with people watching it, as long as they don't get too... clingy and... tumblr-y.

i don't like anything media-wise unless it's Spyro.

my one friend is obsessed with AOT, and it seems rather uncharacteristic of them.

I assume you have seen em all then to make that judgment?

Anywayyyyyyy

I have heard a lot about this series, and I mean a lot D: and I do wanna get round to it but I have loads to watch already xD (The borgias, Cowboy Beepbop and sengoku Basira :-p) but once I am done I'll be sure to check this one out (unless its november and Space Dandy is out because I wanna see that xD)

One thing I must axe is the plot like say, death note one continuing plot, or is it more soul eater with arks passing through certain episodes and stuff :-p

I like different kinds of anime. But I'll be blunt and say this doesn't seem my kind of show. But Glad you guys enjoyed and whoever watches it enjoy. It does sound cool.

More like how you described Death Note. It's actually made by the same studio. There's only one season so far and there will probably be either two or three before the story's complete.

Edit: well actually it's kind of both. The episodes are even called stuff like {Arc title} 3: {episode title} but they all connect to an overarching plot.

I think it's only like five episodes in so far, but yeah, there is one. By the time you're able to watch the show I'm sure it'll be done.

I used to love SnK, but the fandom on tumblr ruined it. Either way, I'm losing my faith in it pretty quickly.

And if you're up to date with the manga, it's on a completely different tangent.

Honestly, if I paid attention to the fandoms of anything I liked much, especially on Tumblr, I would have no interests. People get so into things that they can ruin just about anything.

Re: Regardless of if you like anime, I still have to recommend this one

It's probably way too easy for fandumbs to ruin things for me. hmm I pretty much have to find out about something before I'm aware that a fandom even exists for it, or the fandom crap will be all I'm able to think about.

Well, I can say that about Spyro. If I was introduced to the whole "Spyro x Cynder" thing first before playing any Spyro games I probably wouldn't have played Spyro at all.

Attack on Titan is fantastic. I couldn't wait for however many years it's going to take them to release the next season, so I went ahead and read the manga. Definitely worth checking out.

Re: Regardless of if you like anime, I still have to recommend this one

I could never get into any anime/manga I tried since I am a person inspired by pretty graphics mixed with my imagination, that's why I would love to see Spyro remade on some of the new game engines. I occasionally look at some stories like the ones about Spyro on DeviantArt but that's just about it.

I heard they're making two compilation films before they get to season 2.

They released a new chapter today and I still don't care/don't even know what's going on.
