TV finales

So, I watched the Golden Girls finale and I cried, it was so good, funny and sentimental, just what the TV show ending should be xD

and it got me thinking about other TV finales, for we have good perfect endings to shows...then we have endings that just suck :-P

Re: TV finales

The How I Met Your Mother finale was the worst ever. Every part of the last episode just made me facepalm.

The answer? Don't watch Comedy Central xD

I know, right!? And then, after all of that stuff about learning he has to get over Robin because they don't work as a couple, apparently the whole show was a story about how he's in love with her, and he conveniently gets back together with her in the end, despite none of the issues they had as a couple ever actually being resolved?

I mean, if Barney breaks up with her because she's gone too often, how is Ted going to be able to handle that? roll

It's a CBS show actually.

As far as good TV show endings go, Avatar's 4-part finale was excellent.

Six Feet Unders finale was pretty good.

You get a flash forward of the entire family dying, usually on their deathbeds old or in ones case shot to death while on duty. Its the ultimate closure I've ever seen to a TV show, and it fits so well given the shows themes of death.

And in more recent TV show endings Breaking Bads was satisfying.

Re: TV finales

The solution: Don't watch TV--won't be disappointed by endings!

Re: TV finales

But then you could just be disappointed by video game or book endings. D:

Re: TV finales

i was basically going to say what Paranoia said, but just decided not to post.

even back when i watched cartoons with no continuous storyline, some of the individual episodes' endings were bad.

i don't know if i've ever actually stuck it out to the end of a series (with a storyline).

Yeah but with TV shows, you get all invested because you had to keep watching through the BS commercials and waiting between seasons and stuff. I can finish a video game or book on my own time. Also, I'm too cheap to pay for a cable or a Netflix subscription. :P

36: I don't think I've ever watched a TV series to a conclusion either. Really alienates you from a lot of conversations though. :/

I guess you have to expect the good and bad.
