Any smart phone or tablet users out there?

The pet peeves thread got me curious. How many people here use a smart device? And if you do what kind is it? I'm a big fan of Android, so I've got a Samsung Galaxy SII and will be getting a Nexus 5 with my next upgrade in a couple months.

In the poll, if you have multiple, please give the "smartest" as your answer. For example, if you have an iPad and a Nook e-reader, answer iOS.

PS- part of my reason for this thread is because I'm considering making a spyroforum Android app and I want to know if it would even be worth it.

I have been tearing down a broken tablet (On-Board battery was dead and Screen was broken + It runs Android 4.1) and I took the main board off the tablet and plugged it charger in along with a mini HDMI into a monitor and it still turns on! Android is not happy that its wifi adaptor is no longer there but it was one of the greatest successes ever!!!

Now you cannot probably do this with iOS or with the Windows software so Android is soo great! big_smile :D:D

I usr a nexus 7 tablet. I've had it for about two years, now, I think. I'm using it to post this right now tongue . It's very useful.

I have a Pantech Burst (android). It's an okay phone, but this coming December I'm going to get a different phone since the battery drains whenever I shut it off.

Buy a £/$15 aftermarket battery from Anker and believe me, you will not regret it... Battery life is awesome and they do multiple model of phone batteries.

i don't have a smartphone either, just a "normal" cellphone i guess. and i kinda want a tablet, but i don't have one yet. i've just been not posting.

Every electronic device has some sort of operating system, whether it be a simple small Linux OS or even something coded from scratch. Even your microwave has some sort of OS. I think ATM machines use a modified Linux system.

Actually, a lot of ATM's still use Windows XP which is the reason why people are being warned about them since XP is not getting support anymore.

Okay, thanks for the correction. Our main grocery store (H-E-B) still has Win XP cash registers. I'll be honest, ever since I've gone through the security courses in college I realize how many security holes Win XP has, and now I don't trust it at all.

My school has two computer labs full of brand new iMacs. Three, if you count the middle school's. They probably cost more than building the school itself.
