Hey Google, keep the popular channels off of my feed, tanks'

A few days ago I noticed that Google decided to place recommendations in our video feed to promote popular channels. Seriously YouTube, can't we watch want we want to watch? Popular channels have a tendency to be rubbish anyways, so why bother to promote them? I will watch what interests me, and if I like the channel I will subscribe on my own free will, not by some annoying suggestion on my video feed.

Youtube wants me to watch Pewdiepie. I don't think I've given them any indication that I would be interested in video game reviews or let's plays or anything like that. -_-

also, they've been doing things like that for years now. i really wish there were some video service that would overshadow YouTube, Google ruined it.

I don't mind it that much, but it's kind of annoying. I generally watch video game related stuff, but that doesn't mean I like Pewdiepie.

I'm not sure what's next for Youtube. I feel like it's too big to fail at the moment. It's so well established that I don't see anything else taking its place any time soon unless Google makes some seriously stupid decisions.

The ting with a lot of youtubers stuff is...you see one you see them all.

Kids react is just "ergh meh gerd" every time
Annoying orange is just "hey object with face! Oh now you are dead"
How it should of ended "lets just point out plot holes and stuff but in the films ending"

I don't watch that kind of thing on Youtube though. I mainly just follow channels where I'm actually interested in what the people have to say. Whether it's them talking over video games or just podcasts of some sort. I honestly don't know some of those channels have so many subscribers. I haven't seen an annoying orange video or any of the ones you've mentioned really, in a long time. I just stick to my little corner of Youtube, and organically find new content I like rather than having what's popular shoved in my face.

I mostly just watch Rev3Games and movie/game trailers. I wish the homepage were more customizable.

I wish YouTube in general was more customizable. I miss being able to have my own channel design.

so do i. i had this awesome black and blue design on my channel (SpyroTheEternalNight, the channel at that time being based around the game), and this awesome blue / spacey design on my other one. sad

i loved being able to customize channels.
