Re: Pet Peeves

Going to the phone post, I hate people same age or younger with like the Iphone 5S because it just bugs me that they brag about how their parents spend out that much for the phone for them... I have a HTC One that I inherited from my dad after he got a replacement and never sent the old one back (Backlight broke) So I played £40 for the repair and got a great phone for next to nothing.

I found the argument, and compiled most of it into this picture. The story behind it is that I posted a comment on this video:

on how the American version had less censorship than the Japanese one, and how usually it's the other way around. Then, this happened. Spoiler for language.

you could swear it was straight from tumblr

Spelling. Spelling. SPELLING.

People who can't spell correctly and try to make the other side of their [pitiful] argument sound like the dumb one.

Flapjacks was the only sane person there.

Re: Pet Peeves

The only reason I posted was just to point out something I found funny, then when someone tried to start an argument, I was comical about it more so, but that didn't seem to help. I find it pretty hilarious when people don't understand that someone is being facetious, so they look up something on google to try and prove them wrong. I'm willing to bet that the guy who replied to me had no idea what the most free countries in the world were when he first read my comment.

Edit: Also that one guy who replied to me who had some doctor who crap as his username, caps lock, and forty exclamation points sums up a lot of my pet peeves.

I think it's stupid when anyone always has to have the latest iPhone (or whatever) the day it comes out. It's going to be the exact same thing they had before but slightly faster and more shiny, maybe with a couple extra features or something. I'm all for updating your phone every few years or so when your service provider gives you an upgrade or something, but why throw away your money every time a new iPhone comes out? I can't help thinking of people who do that as shallow.

Dude, we get *bleep* in the mail from Charter all the time too. Me and my roommate just pay for internet, and we get something in the mail almost every week about their TV and phone services. It's such a waste of time, energy, and resources. Who actually sees a pamphlet in the mail and says to themselves: "Hey, I should spend MORE money a month on services that I chose upfront not too!"  I mean, most of the mail we get is junk anyway

Are you saying you're NOT interested in the Charter Triple Play (tm) ?!?! Let me send you the same ad for every week of the next year just to make sure you didn't just misplace the last one.

I only recently went on contract, and that was only due to the fact my old phone broke.

I have only had 3 phones in my life, one when I was in 2008 (cost £24 and lost it in 2011) got my second phone from my brother, that lasted until just last year, it died out on me, yet according to my friends I always seem to get new phones because my phones kept getting damaged...which is news to me.

Even the phone I got on contract is basic, yet everyone keeps yapping "ERGH MEH GERD U NEED A PHONE WITH INTERNET!!!!1111" No I want a phone to either text or call, why do I need a phone with internet? I've gotten by without it this long.

Re: Pet Peeves

I have a smartphone, and I do like having internet access at hand, but I do agree with you. You really can't call it a "phone" anymore when it works like a PC or tablet. Sometimes I wish I could go around with a old phone from the 90's and say "this is my cellphone".

Re: Pet Peeves

To be honest I only use my phone as a phone maybe 1-5% of the time I use it. I'm using it right now to make this post, in fact.

Re: Pet Peeves

^ Something like that lol

Maybe it's just me, but I don't care to see pictures of someones ultra sounds. I went to a baby shower the other day and the mother decided to show the pictures on the TV... I can't ever make heads or tails of that stuff, and I think it's something more less personal for the parents. I mean, I don't mind if they share it with others, but I think they could at least have them printed out as photographs? At least that way no one has to sit there and see something they don't want to see.

Edit: The fire department across the street going full blown siren at 11:08PM. I'm sure it's apart of their rules, but where I live it's dead at night, so I don't see a need for all that nonsense so late in the evening.
