Why would someone want to cosplay a character

Try to imagine yourself. You wake up, go have a breakfast. Then suddently a person comes up and looks just like you.
Now imagine how freaky that is. It follows you everywhere and creeps into your sleep.
Now i know how anime character must feel like when someone else tries to be that character yikes

Maybe lack of self-image and portrayal reality problems, hmm hmm

I've cosplayed a couple times before. Made the costumes and went to the conventions with some friends who were also cosplaying. It's really just for fun, not trying to be that character or anything.

If the characters I dressed up as were real I'm sure they probably would be creeped out, but luckily, they're not. tongue

Because it's fun? I wouldn't cosplay as something stupid, probably only a human character whose outfit isn't hard to create.

I've cosplayed as N from pokemon and Luke from Tales of the Abyss (that costume didn't turn out so well sad ) but it's fun.

i've never cosplayed, but i imagine it's just entertaining like everyone else said. it's not really creepy because the characters aren't real. even if they were i'm willing to bet some would be like flattered that people were pretending to be them. tongue

if i ever did something like that, i think i'd want to be my own thing as opposed to a character with predefined traits and thoughts.

I have never cosplayed, but I really do want a correctly proportioned Globox costume. (rayman 2 / Revolution Globox specifically)

Sadly I can't Cosplay as a Battlefield 1942 soldier. Oh well. I never did cosplays anyway.
