A Little Help, Please

I need your help, guys. In the past two days, I've seen three videos on YouTube that have my art in them. This is all well and good except that no one asked me if they could use my art and, most annoying of all, I (and all the other artists) am not being credited with the creation of the art.

If you guys see any more videos with my art in them, would you please let me know? Please don't yell at the video makers on my behalf. I've talked to the three people who took my art so far, two of which have given me credit and the other just pulled his video.

And to all you video makers out there, I don't mind that you're using my art, but I do ask that you mention me by name as the artist at least in the space where you post the info about your video (though it'd be awesome to be named in the credits on the video itself). We artists spend a lot of time on our work (in my case, sometimes many hours) and it's not fair to us or the video's viewers that we are not credited. Some viewers would like to see the full quality versions of the images, but they can't find those if they don't know who did the art. And not naming an artist, even if you don't claim the art as your own, is still art theft. deviantART did not draw these pictures, we did!

Also, I like being asked beforehand because then I know there's a video with my art and I can go see it and favorite it. smile

Sure. I'll be glad to help smile . Have you tried using deviant usernames on the youtube search? maybe that is how art is getting into ur videos???

Thank you! I just did a YouTube search for my username on dA and I found only the videos that I had asked the people to mention me in. These folks are taking the art right of dA and not crediting the artists, it's as simple as that.

Report it to the youtube staff. They remove videos that have material that doesn't have the creator's permission.

Yea. They removed a whole lot of family guy clips that have been on for nearly a year and got about 11m views for one video.

I don't want the poster's videos removed unless they refuse to credit me. I give them one chance to fix things before I take it to the YouTube staff.
