Re: Leaving and Returning Members Thread
I got halfway through your post and thought you were going to say you were leaving forever. D: I think I understand, though; good luck sorting everything out.

Re: Leaving and Returning Members Thread
these have been a very rough couple of days for me, on a mental level. my social anxiety is becoming more apparent taking into consideration memories that have been unintentionally dragged up and some recent events. deep down i guess i always felt like this, i just never thought it had a name. i absolutely *do not* like meeting people out of sheer fear of rejection, i don't like being in crowds or paying for things, i don't trust most of the people i know long-term, i've come to assume they will all leave eventually. this is the only active community i have other than a few "hellos" at church. why is that? i don't do anything wrong in those communities, i suppose i'm just too different to really be accepted anywhere. maybe i'm not fun enough, maybe i'm not cool enough.
positivity hurts because i feel like it's only a matter of time until it leaves again. i dread most of the things that make me happy, because i'm often left to wonder when they'll cease to make me happy. but at the same time, i know that hope's in there. i've been on this website for about 6 years now, i guess that's a good sign. longer than i've been outwardly accepted anywhere else, that's for sure.
lately that negativity's been bothering me more, though, i don't know how social i'll want to be for the next few days. i might just need some time away from anywhere where my thoughts might be publicly seen. i don't even want to deal with it and in fact i don't even want to submit this post, but don't worry if i vanish for a few days. if you want to message me on here or on dA, YouTube, etc i might respond. i might not right away.
i probably won't even bother with tumblr, so try not to have to reach me there.
I wish the best of luck to you and hope to see you again soon. You're a good guy.

Re: Leaving and Returning Members Thread
i'm going to try coming back, i really needed that time away from most others (short-lived though it was), and had a good conversation with a friend that helped a lot.
a lot of stuff caught up to me in a few days, and it resulted in that post. had nothing to do with this site, if you were wondering.
the past had some rough stuff for sure, but i'm glad to say i have you guys, and my friends who aren't on this site, that i'm accepted somewhere and that there are some people in my life i actually feel like i can trust. it's taken a really long time, but maybe i've finally found some true friends. and you all make me feel a little bit better about socializing, whether we talk personally or not.

Re: Leaving and Returning Members Thread
thanks, Flapjacks. i hope so too, i'm not sure how easy it is to permanently overcome something that might be a real 'disorder', but i think most things are possible *including that* and it's certainly worth an effort.
it helps having good friends.
and Swaffy; i mean human-level friends, for the record. God and Christ also help a lot.

Re: Leaving and Returning Members Thread
I've learned in the past that there are some things/feelings that come back no
matter what, but something I can do is learn how to better handle them.
ISLS, you didn't take as long as I thought, perhaps your friends helped. Moral
support is extremely important. And having friends who have been through
the same things help you along because they know what will make you feel
better.
To give an example, in the depressions I've had in my past, I remember
people constantly telling me to smile and be happy. That made me hate them
even more. But those who came down to my level and shared that pain with
me were the ones who helped me out of that depression the most. Now that I
know what it feels like, I know what to do if I meet someone who is dealing
with the same (or a similar) thing. I think it takes a deeper level of
understanding.

Re: Leaving and Returning Members Thread
I know those feels too 36IStillLikeSpyro36. It is difficult when it all piles up at one time. This community helped me a lot with it. :3 Especially support on spyrochat from, I can't remember now who all was there, Kimori, Zed, Stormy, Brad and maybe somebody else, when I was feeling like hurting myself.. and I really appreciate your support too through PMs that time when I was in love with that girl ![]()
Sometimes I just need to be alone for some time. I still have to deal with some stuff from my past.

Re: Leaving and Returning Members Thread
i meant to reply here earlier, but just didn't get around to it.
thanks, KingLambda!
Swaffy, you're definitely right. it helps to have people who understand what you're feeling when you're down. i haven't had anyone tell me to just be happier, but i've heard of that and i'm sure that's annoying.
Gekoncze, you're also right, it's hard when it all comes back at once. my big thing with the past is my fear that it will happen again. it's rare that i ever want to hurt myself, but when i do get those thoughts, i keep in mind what a friend said. i could PM it if you want. in fact, you're welcome to PM me anytime. that goes for anyone, really, but to you, too.

Hey guys. Not sure if anyone remembers me at this point, but it's good to see this place is pretty active. I might pop in every once in a while, see if I can't get back into the swing of things here. ![]()

Not much (yet) other than no one caring if we talk about "banned" topics anymore. I remember you being one of the most outspoken for getting rid of that rule.

I can see changes, but they either happen slowly or they are small enough
that no one sees them.
