Re: General Discussion 5
yeah. like i said, we're still friends, but it still sucks. i finally got an interest in someone, and this happens.
i'm glad we both value our friendship enough to keep talking, though. and that's something she said directly.
(i'm not sure how Rurik's ordeal went. hopefully well enough, considering.)

Re: General Discussion 5
thanks, guys. it could be a lot worse than it is, and i'm glad things are going pretty well so far. we're still on good terms, and my friends and family are doing a pretty good job, intentionally or unintentionally, in keeping me distracted from my own mind.

Swaffy News!
I just bought a Mosin Nagant M44 (Model 1944) Carbine from my friend's
dad! It's awesome! In peak condition, for a rifle manufactured in 1946. It
came with the original field kit! One of the pouches has ammo, the other
has a cleaning kit and it basically straps around your waist.
Oh, and it has a completely unused (sharp) bayonet on it still!

Can it actually shoot Tranquilizers?
Because if it's one thing Metal Gear Solid 3 taught me. It's that the Mosin Nagant is a sniper tranq gun.

Re: General Discussion 5
Took my rifle out to the range today with my friend. Holy crap that think
kicks, like my shoulder has been hit with a baseball bat many times. There's
gonna be a hefty bruise. The stock is basically solid wood with a steel plate on
the back, not really friendly againt shoulders.
Also, we went to the sports & outdoors store and saw a sweet looking spear.
I'm sure that thing can pierce through a car door like butter.

Re: General Discussion 5
Heard about the typhoon in the Phillippines that killed many, and left damges that make take months to repair, My prayers and well wishes go out to all involved a truly terrible thing to happen, to a great country and great people.
I wish my continued best and hope everything goes well for everyone there.

Whats worse is that the typhoon is still going. Last I checked, it said it was heading for Vietnam next.

Re: General Discussion 5
Thankfully, I heard on the news that US teams are already there (military and
citizens) to help out. Lots of Phillies get to ride in C-17 Globemasters too, it's a
bumpy ride but that must be a pretty cool experience. Anyway, reality is that
there isn't much that can be done to prevent people from getting hit by a
storm like that when they live in that area. I'm sure Cuba gets hit a lot too.
But we can see it before it hits and get ready to help them recover.

A lot of people are missing. It's already one heck of a mess, and already a thousand are dead. I just hope everyone in Vietnam gets into a safe area before it gets bad.
EDIT:
Just found out that 3 miles out from Pittsburgh, there was a shooting at Brashear High School. What has the world come to?
