I regret deleting something in a video game topic

I was inspired to make this topic after what happened yesterday.

Since my Miiverse account on the Wii U was deactivated because I posted many things that had nothing to do with Nintendo, including "David Bowie is hot!", I decided to make a new Wii U user with a new Miiverse account. I then deleted my old user that had no Miiverse account. Then, I realized a few minutes later, that I had also deleted all of my Wii U game progress.

Well, I guess it's back to Sony for a while.

You can talk about what you've deleted in video games or on video game consoles and then regretted.

When I was making an xbox live account I accidentally deleted my brother's account. That caused some drama.

Re: I regret deleting something in a video game topic

My little sister corrupted my file in one of my Harvest Moon games because she didn't know you weren't supposed to turn the console off while it's saving. Or, I guess, she didn't know why you're not supposed to do that. I think what happened was she was playing the game and accidentally chose the slot where my game was saved to save her game, realized what she had done, and turned off the console in the middle of saving, hoping that would fix it.

I remember being oddly unfazed by this. Which was weird for me because my sister and I were always at each other's throats in some way. tongue

Re: I regret deleting something in a video game topic

A long time ago I was on Eternal Sonata, I was on "Encore mode" basically story mode but harder.

I was on this bit were I was a little bit under level so I thought I'll grind my level up then hopefully I wont need to do so again for ages.

I spent 1 hour and 30 minuets levelling up.

Then I thought, right i'll head back to the town and save. When I set off back. I thought, "one last fight couldn't hurt I am fully healed and everything"

I died...and lost all that progress!

Re: I regret deleting something in a video game topic

I own both Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, however I always get the two mixed up. A while back, I wanted to play one, and Diamond was the first I found, so I grabbed it. However, I knew that one of them was the one that had all of my legendaries and level 100 characters and stuff on it, but I was pretty sure it was Pearl. I wished I had checked, because next time I opened Pearl, my character had two or three gym badges, and I had already started a new game on Diamond.

Now, I look at the title, it does look like it is saying that.

Re: I regret deleting something in a video game topic

The pain felt in this thread is too tremendous to measure.

I've played a few older games (as in, no auto-save) for long periods of time,
then die/lose, then realize that I have to redo nearly 1/4th of the game.

My Xbox [original] was stolen out of my room, I had more saved games on
that then any other system I've ever owned. Same thing happened after that
to my Xbox 360 but with less games. Thankfully a lot of stuff is saved over
Xbox LIVE and it just loads up nice and easy.

You grinded in Eternal Sonata? I beat encore mode way back then but I didn't find it that hard for me to grind a whole lot. Guard is just even more of your friend than ever before.

Stolen right out of your room? How did that happen?

So true!

My parents are also huge fans of video games. When I was 6 or 7, on YotD, I deleted my mother's user because I was bored, and replaced it with a new user. I, proud of my 'accomplishment' went up to my mother and said, "Guess what! I deleted your Spyro game!" Then, she became sad. The end.

Oh my. This reminds me of something [off-topic]. My parents were out of
town, spending time together. So I was home alone with my sister. I got on
the family computer and was looking at my old pictures I had stored on it. But
I noticed a folder full of hundreds of pictures my parents took over the years
inside my user files. So, being an airhead, I thought it was an accidental copy
of their files and I deleted it for the purpose of cleaning up my own folder.
Little did I know that shared folders exist. Wow were my parents mad! But
Recycle Bin saved them. *angel halo*

Re: I regret deleting something in a video game topic

I was once playing Half Life for the first time back in college and then I went to class. When I got back to my dorm later that day my roommate had beaten half the game. On my save! So I had to start over to experience it all again

That was the issue, at that point I struggled to guard and hadn't got the hang of it :-P

I once deleted a file of WWE 13 accidently how to get everything back but it was kind of fun redoing it all again.

Re: I regret deleting something in a video game topic

Pokemon Gold... I, my brother and my sister(we're triplets) owned it together. We had several shiny pokémon, one of them a black Kangaskhan. I once wanted to start a temporary new game without saving. But I went into the computer and used the MOVE W/O MAIL function, which saved the game sad
