Re: December 21st, 2012

However solar winds cause the Northern lights and such and when that happens it causes metal to corrode faster and messes with electronics, so there will be some troubles as they migrate. (this comes from a DVD my grandperants got last Christmas about the Northern lights)

Those are NOT natural disasters. We brought up crap like that on ourselves. Seriously, will a war on terrorism seriously bring about the end of an entire planet's civilisation?

...

Thought not.

Well, the death of one Price brought about WW1, and WW1 brought WW2, best way to think of something like this is think "Chaos Theroy" anything can happen, and anything can cause something else to happen

Re: December 21st, 2012

i'm with brom, the chaos theory is the most accurancy theory of what can happens to our world, and for the poles, i heard that they are melting more and more year by year, that's a sacry thing...

Re: December 21st, 2012

Just as it has ALWAYS been, the world is in a dangerous shape. In all of humanity's history, it's never been in a 'safe' state. The more advanced we humans get, the more advanced our problems seem to get. Why? Because the more advanced we get, we are thrown problems that we need to counter to continue advancing. It will always be this way.

Re: December 21st, 2012

True, but I belive that that's not human's falt directly, why?

this place had an ice age diddn't it? How long did it last? A very long time, then , all of a sudden, the ice melts and the earth warms up! Well, that being said... the law of inerta states that everything resists change, and if the world has been getting slowly warmer and warmer over the last [at least] 1000 years....

BUT, if we are going to contiu this, we must take it to the PM [privte messages] becaus a disscussion like this goes south to easly and that would not be good for our local law enforcement [hi Lone, SR and .... Brom?{HAH, fat chance}]

oh, crap, I was posting when Lone posted his message....

Re: December 21st, 2012

Treehuggers.. Oh, not calling any of you that, unless you are..
Oh world has been warming up, but it may not keep warming up. They could be making a mistake just like they did in the '70s.
Our atmosphere fluctuates, so it could really do anything.
During the '70s, everything was the opposite. Everyone feared the possibility of a mini ice age. The world was actually getting colder than usual. It didn't really start getting warmer until the '90s.
To put it on a smaller scale, this year was supposed to have the most hurricanes in history after last year's result. Instead, we got a total of 2 hurricanes..
Now I'm not saying that the world is in perfect condition or anything, just saying that many mistakes are being made now even w/ the technology we have. I really think people are going crazy over it to keep society behaved and control behavior.

Oh, and here's a little random fact. You all know Al Gore, right? He was former V.P. and now he's going crazy about global warming. He's even making a movie about it to help people conserve energy and heat.
Here's the funny thing: A few tests were run around Gore's house, and it was discovered that the energy being released from his household is equivalent to the energy being released from 35 average homes.
Way to go Al Gore... roll

I'm shuer the moment voting year is over he's all for aboutions too... and WE ARE NOT going to have a disscussion about abortions!! That's even too hot a topic for me to talk about openly...ok, for more than 4 posts, but over that it's too hot!

Re: December 21st, 2012

I'd just like to say that I am a treehugger and I am proud. And even IF our world isn't going to collapse because of global warming, this is the only Earth we're gonna get, so we should take care of it and do as much as we can to keep it clean and maintain its resources.

Re: December 21st, 2012

And even if polution is not making things hot, it is still bad for the enviorment and our health. And if it does increase the tempature and we are in a natural warming period, that just makes things worse.

Our climate is changing, thats indisputable. The source/reason for the changes is disputable.

Re: December 21st, 2012

Rexy- I said 9/11 and terrorist threats were not natural disasters, but they do scare people and that causes crazy things to happen. Natural disasters include The 2004 tsunami's which killed hundreds of thousands, hurricane katrina, and many other things.

Yeah, the same with 9/11. Though it was over 6 years ago, it seems so recent.
Heh, went through my desk recently and found a letter a NY firefighter sent me. It was a reply from the one I sent him. And this was just after 9/11.
It made me happy when I read it. smile
Especially after the rough day I've had today.
