I found this website on a forum I was visiting.

For those of you who don't know what a dÃ¦mon is or haven't read the His Dark Materials trilogy, no, has nothing to do with a demon, although they are pronounced the same way. The website will explain it; I'm too lazy to write an explanation myself.

So, what is your dÃ¦mon? Apparently, mine's a lion named Philon.

DÃ¦mons are usually the opposite gender of their humans. Sometimes opposite personalities so they complement your own personality.

Apparently people who are homosexual tend to have dÃ¦mons of the same gender as themselves.

Well, that's true; it kind of is. But other people have different views about religion and I have to accept that, even though I am Catholic. Besides, it's a good story anyway. smile

Even if a movie is "anti-religion/God" that doesn't mean it's going to stop a movie from looking good in my eyes.

Whoever told you that is wrong. There is no devil in the novels, actually. And it doesn't even get that far until The Amber Spyglass, the third book in the series.

I can see this is going to be contaversial. Here's the story.

According to the books, God is not really the creator. He the first angel, and he told all the angels that came after him that he created them. But really, the "creator" is dark matter, or "Dust". The first angel, or "the authority" actually dies, but no one kills him. Thus, when people die, they simply become part of the environment, Dust.

...... It's a movie, not the gosple. It's a work of fiction that was crated for enjoyment, not to question faith [want that, watch "The Passion of the Crist", talk about the freaking guilt trip from hell, man, 2 hours of watching a guy get tourched, if I wanted to see that I'd just go to my grandparets house and lision to my grandpa gettin the riot act!]

You are right, Brom. It's entertainment, and entertainment only. As long as you know that it's not true and you have a strong faith, it shouldn't be harmful in any way.

And Spyrogirl101, I'd suggest you get more accurate information before making accusations like that. I also don't like the way you said that. I believe in God. I am Catholic. But I like the books anyway.

Well sorry, I am just VERY religious. I get VERY angry when people post OMG and use the Lord's name in vain. Also, I watch my every move to make sure I don't sin and that I follow the Ten Commandments. I am not saying I never sin, everyone sins because Adam and Eve sinned and now we all have sin blood. I just don't see why anyone would see a movie that has a plot that they don't like. It just doesn't make since to me.

Ya know, it's hard to tell a movie's plot BEFORE you watch it, that's kinda like the point of watching the movie, to see the plot unfold [well thats what I watch movies or read book for... or even play TLOS games, If they diddn't have a nice storyline than I wouldn't even look at them crossways]

My dÃ¦mon is a Peacock named Vyena. The dÃ¦mons is called Daimons in norwegian, as the letter "Ã¦" is a regular used norwegian letter, so if we had an "Ã¦" in "dÃ¦mon" It would sound like the norwegian word for *bleep*... therefor they had to switch out the "Ã¦" with "ai"
Also the english way of prenounciating "dÃ¦mon" is the same pronounciation we norwegians has for "demon"... just so you know big_smile

The way we would say "dÃ¦mons" is like this: Dehh-monns"
