because facial expressions are an important part of communication. with the internet, you already lose tone of voice and just the very idea of being around another person already, but faces give you an indication as to the tone being used.

lazy enough that i can't be bothered to identify if these are actually recolors. i don't think they are, actually - if they were somebody else's, SOMEBODY would have *bleep*ed by now, in all caps and there would be journals about it everywhere.

Yeah those are pretty much all recolors; #2 especially looks exactly like TLoS Spyro with blue and lighter purple. Nobody mentions it because they're all like that.

Also if they're not Spyro and Cynder recolors you can bet they're going to at least be similar with maybe some extra horns or something, and 95% of these will be some combination of of dark grey and red or black and bright neon colors. So they're all just emo recolors of other people's emo recolored OCs. Except for the few that are actually good and not just dragon versions of sparkledogs.

Oh, when I say it's recolored, I don't necessarily mean they stole someone else's lineart or something. I mean they just looked at Spyro or Cynder a little too closely as their reference, and their "original" character ended up exactly like them with different colors.

Honestly I don't even mind them that much. tongue That rant was probably a little more dramatic than I intended.

i've never used a tablet, but i'd love to know how people get such perfect lines with those things. i can't draw lines that smooth with a Sharpie.

I recently found out that programs like Adobe Illustrator will actually smooth out your lines for you so they won't look shaky even if you use a mouse. Maybe that's how they do it?
