Re: The Animated Movies topic
I don't see what's automatically wrong with a sequel to Finding Nemo.... Not all sequels are terrible.

Exactly. Remember the Toy Story sequels? I would argue 3 is better than the first. Pixar's only real miss in terms of sequels was Cars 2. That's 2 for 3 that have been good. Plus I bet you Monsters U is going to be amazing.

Re: The Animated Movies topic
If anyone can make a sequel though, it's Pixar. The only reason Cars 2 sucked is because it was solely for merchandising, and Finding Nemo isn't big on merchandise.

Toy Story at least kinda made room for a sequel. Finding Nemo has to be the most self contained story Pixar has ever done. There's just no reason for another one other than a quick cash grab.

Re: The Animated Movies topic
I still wouldn't be so quick to write it off as just that, though, especially when we know virtually nothing about it at this point. Maybe they had a genuinely good idea for something that could happen in that world, even if it doesn't directly build off something that happened in the first movie.
Besides, I can't think of anything Toy Story did that left it more open for a sequel than Finding Nemo. It could have easily been left at one movie; there were no hints about something that might happen next or anything like that. They made sequels because they came up with good ideas that worked, not because they'd planned to from the beginning.

Re: The Animated Movies topic
TBH I thought Pixar said they would stop with sequels after cars 2 went down so bed...so do Prequels not count? Is Finding Dora also realy nessicery? last time I checked I didn't feel the need to know who she was were she came from...her back story wasn't needed. I hardly watch Dumbo and wish to see the Mouses History.

Re: The Animated Movies topic
@Stormy: Agreed. We haven't even seen a trailer or any form of plot details outside of Dory looking for her family, how can there be any evidence it's going to suck? Plus, to build on your other point, I would say all three Toy Story movies had satisfying conclusions.
@Clock-la: It's not a prequel. It's about Dory looking for her family one year after Finding Nemo takes place.

Re: The Animated Movies topic
Well it's like I said, it doesn't have to be "necessary" to be a good movie.
It's a fair point that we don't need to know it, but there is a difference between Dory and that mouse in Dumbo in that people really connected to and loved Dory's character. Talking about her backstory in the original would have obviously been a distraction from the plot, yes, but just because it wouldn't have worked in that movie doesn't mean it won't in its own.

I guess...that said I do like Cinderella 3...xD
Still My concerns are just... concerns, my judgement hasn't been closed just yet, I mean at least they are not making "finding nemo 2: here we go again"
Also Don't diss the Dumbo mouse. He beats Dory anytime! ![]()

Re: The Animated Movies topic
Frankenweenie is AWSOME!!!!!
Soo early thought of EPIC seem to be simple but fun...
Im gonna sound like a hypocritical bat if I enjoy this one :-P
considering my argument for Avatar being crap was that it was to simple...that said it was 3 hours of Pocahontas, witch should take around 70 minuets to tell.
So, I guess if I do see epic and enjoy it, its more for the look of it, as opposed to the plot line :-P
