Spyro Alternate Reboot: The Last Dragon (part 1)

Note: This is not a fanfiction of the new Spyro Series. In truth I hate the new games because I found the story cliche and the game itself just boring. If you do like the newer games though, don't be offended, and don't think this entire series as a big hit against the Legend of Spyro. In fact, I might even incorporate a few aspects of the new series in this one. This Fanfic is basically my idea of how they should've rebooted the Spyro franchise. I'm not asking anyone to turn this into some kind of petition or anything I just want to share this with people and maybe have a few laughs with it. Enjoy

() means it's player controlled/ game part
italics mean it's a cutscene

*********************************************************
It is morning and we are introduced to one of the dragon lands. This one is a great valley surronded by mountains with some castle like buildings and a river. We cut to see a small purple dragon chasing sheep. This is where the player is introduced to the movement and view mechanics of the game. After that he has just scattered a large herd of them when he is tackled by a slightly older and larger tan dragon
Spyro: [slammed to the ground]"Oof"

Copper: Gotcha! [laughs] Not so much fun being the sheep is it Spyro.(rubs Spyros head)

Spyro: [grunts] What do you want.

Copper: I'm just trying to look after my little brother. Wouldn't want the sheep hurting you after all.

Spyro: Shut up and Get off me. [Copper gets off] The sheep would be more trouble for you then for me. I've been practicing charging on them.

Copper: I've been ramming sheep since before you even knew where your horns were. Alright, then show me what you got.

(We are now introduced the the horn/charge mechanic and given our first objective to knock around ten sheep.)

Copper: Not bad for a whelp, but charging sheep is old, I hear there are some rats in the old rabbit burrows east of here. Last one there was a dropped egg....[grins] or a little bitty dragon with a big head.

(spyro frowns and copper takes off. The player takes control and is to follow after him. The player is led to the river which Copper flies over with ease. He turns toward Spyro hovering in the air)

Copper: Looks like the bank is steep on this side. You'd better hope your wings are big enough to glide over.

(Player learns the glide control and uses it to continue chase over bank. Spyro meets up with his brother near in an area full of burrows)

Copper: [Looking into one of the burrows] I guess I win. I think I see some in here but they're hard to get at, hold on.[backs away] Stay back they get really mad when you smoke them out.

(He Breathes fire into the burrow and two large rats come out. Copper quickly dispatches them. The burrow bursts into a puff a smoke and three gems pop out.)

Copper: Spyro look! Those rats must've been stealing from dragon hoards. Maybe the others have some too. Go drive them out.

(We learn the firebreathing mechanic and eliminate all the burrows and collect the gems.)

Copper: Looks like that's all of them. I guess there's no sense in returning the gems since we don't know whose they are. Finders Keepers after all. Hey look over there!

cut to see a glowing gold light going into a disappearing into a cave

Spyro: What's that?

Copper: I don't know. come on let's check it out.

cut to them entering the cave

Spyro: It sure is dark in here.

Copper: [Looks sideways at Spyro] Scaaarred?

Spyro: [Defensivly] No! I'm not scared of anything! I just wanna know how we are going to follow that thing if we can't see.

(Copper scans the area for a bit and then perks up when he sees a large basin. He uses his fire breath on it and it ignites)

Copper: These old lamps seem to work. Lets light whatever ones we can find.

(We then set off through the cave battling large rats and doing some platforming along the way. After lighting one Lamp we ecounter a large clear pond where treasure is clearly visible at the bottom.)

Spyro: (Peering into it) Look!

Copper: [He walks over and looks in the pond, then turns his head to Spyro] Well what are you waiting for? Go get it.

(We learn how to dive and retrieve the gems. Copper nods in approval and sets off again. We go through the routine until they emerge at the other end of the cavern where it leads to a great clearing.)

They see the gold glowing was a dragonfly that immediately hides in a bush by a lake where a bunch of similar dragonflies are located. Spyro and Copper look at each other and then run to the bush, seeing the golden dragonfly perched on the branch.

Spyro: I've never seen a dragonfly like that.

Copper: Let's catch it!

Spyro: Alright!

[A deep voice interrupts] You will do no such thing.

The two startled dragon cubs turn to find a large, green adult dragon sitting behind them.

Copper: Hi Talonus.

Spyro: Why can't we catch the dragonfly?

Talonus: Those are no ordinary dragonflies young ones. They are magic and bring good luck to those who protect them. They are the reason our summers are as long and nice as they are. It would be in ill form to hold one captive.

Copper: We wouldn't hurt it, and we wouldn't keep it for long.

Talonus: [firmly] You won't by keeping it at all. [Gentler] There are plenty of other ways to entertain yourselves here without picking on poor little insects. Lord knows you do enough terrorizing the sheep.[chuckles] Go on and play as much as you like or until your mother calls you. There's an easy way out for you spyro seeing as your not old enough to fly. [nods toward a path that leads out of the grove]Have fun now and mind the dragonflies. [Takes off]

Copper: [turns to Spyro] I'm gonna go get some food, I'm starving. Let me know if you find anything neat around here. [Flies off as well]

(Player is free to explore the grove area and knock around the bunnies and toads. Some treasure can be collected as well.)

Re: Spyro Alternate Reboot: The Last Dragon (part 1)

(After the player decides to leave the grove and take the path they'll once again have to deal with a few rats and giant beetles that drop gems. Once that gets settled, Spyro comes across a mother dragon guarding her eggs.)

Spyro: [Approaches the Dragon]

Mother dragon: Oh! Hello Spyro! I'm sorry, I didn't see you.
Spyro: Watcha got there?

Mother dragon: These? [stands up, uncovering her eggs] These are my babies;(chuckles) I'm going to be a mommy..

Spyro: Oh cool! When are they going to hatch?

Mother dragon: Oh they won't be hatching for a while now.

Spyro: Me and Copper found a nest of glowing dragonflies. Wanna come see?

Mother dragon: I'd love to Spyro; but I can't just leave my eggs alone; They might get stolen.

Spyro:[tilts head] Who would want to steal your eggs?

Mother dragon: [blows a puff of smoke, irritated] There are thieves from the other lands
who make quite a profit selling dragon eggs; Nasty little vermin from what I hear.

Spyro: Other lands?

Mother dragon: [chuckles] There are other places other than the dragon lands Spyro.
Wonderful places some of them. Though many of us don't travel too far;I'm sure one day your mother will take you to them..when you're old enough. Oh! Speaking of which, I'm sure your mother is looking for you.

Spyro: [A bit reluctant to stop adventuring] Oh I'm sure she isn't

Three fireballs are shot into the sky

Mother dragon: Hmmm...I do believe that's her signal..

Spyro: Aww man! [huffs] Well okay then I'll go. [Runs off]

Mother dragon: [calls out after him] Say hi to her for me!

(The fireballs signals are continuous, and mark your next destination. However, you can explore a bit before going there. The player is in the Artisan world, with grassy plains and stone structures. There can be some random treasure found forgotten in barrels to collect as well as large sheep herds that the player can torment to their heart's content. Spyro is able to meet three other dragons during this time who each give him advice. All dragons are mainly quadrapedal, but the older ones have the ability to stand and perform tasks with their forepaws, as demonstrated by one doing crafting. Spyro can eventually reach his mother, Amethystia, who is sitting on a castle balcony by either taking the castle ramp, or with some creative plattforming with some stone ruins.)

Amethystia: [Reclining on the balcony and lifts her head up as Spyro approaches. Her main coloring is the same lavender purple as Spyro's is. The scales on her underbelly, inside wings, and spines on her head are all silver.] I was wondering when one of you would arrive. Now where's your brother?

Copper: [Pounces on spyro from out of nowhere. The two wrestle with each other.]

Amethystia: [sighs and shakes her head before clearing her throat.]

Copper and Spyro: [Reluctantly stand at attention, giving one last shove to each other.]

Spyro: Have you really been to lands other than the dragon worlds?

Amethystia: Yes, but it was a long time ago. I haven't been back to visit in ages.

Spyro: Can you take us there? I wanna go knock around those egg thieves!

Copper: [rolls his eyes] You couldn't beat up a hatchling.

Spyro: I can beat you!

Copper: [sticks out tongue] Doubt it!

Spyro: [charges into his brother and the two begin fighting again]

Amethystia: [Sighs] The reason I called you is that the patrols have spotted some of the gnorcs near out boarders.

Spyro: [Let's go of Copper's tail, which he was biting.] What's a Gnorc?

Copper: They're ugly green things that always try to attack us. They're pretty stupid as well from what I hear. They never get too far though; I don't know what the worry is about. I could probably take em.

Spyro: Me too!

Amethystia: [Stern] You will not go anywhere near them. From now on I want you back by this time, and you are not to go anywhere beyond Stone Hill. Am I clear?

Spyro and Copper: Yes mother.

Amethystia: Good. Now go get cleaned up and ready for lessons.

Lessons happen offscreen. The next scene is at night where the family is getting ready for bed. As Spyro and Copper lay down, Amethystia is called outside by Talonus.

Amethystia: [goes onto the balcony with the green dragon] Has there been any more sightings?

Talonus: A few, none have gotten too far yet.

Amethystia: [sighs and looks back at Copper and Spyro]

Talonus: The Gnorcs are cowardly creatures; they never give us too much trouble. They wouldn't even have come this far if Gnasty didn't egg them on. They won't reach here.
Amethystia: I'd be calmer if they were here where I could see them and take care of them, not someplace where my children could run off to while my back is turned…(sighs) How long will it take to drive them back? Gnasty has gotten bolder and more vicious lately. All of his defeats should have made them weaker, but they keep coming back.

Talonus: Gnasty doesn't have the sense of a stone. He'll lead the Gnorcs into ruin before they get the better of us.

Amethystia: [sighs] I just wish my boys didn't always go looking for trouble. Especially Spyro;.even as a hatchling he found danger, and he's still not old enough to fly.

Talonus: He takes after his mother..

Amethystia: [smiles] Well at least they are dedicated to fighting each other. Maybe that will keep them from wandering.

Talonus: One can hope. [turns away] Goodnight Amethystia..Best of luck.

Amethystia: To you as well.

Talonus: [flies away]

Spyro: [yawns and is about to go to sleep] Copper?

Copper: Yea Spyro?

Spyro: Do you know what's in those other lands?

Copper: Not a clue..

Spyro: Well we shouldn't we go there and find out some day?

Copper: We will little brother[yawns] We will..

They both fall asleep, but not without giving each other a playful kick and shove first.

Re: Spyro Alternate Reboot: The Last Dragon (part 1)

The camera pans away from the sleeping dragons in the castle. We get a great view of the expansive artisan lands at night with running streams and green hills. A a few dragons can still be seen flying about, but there is no noise besides the chirping of crickets. However, as the camera zooms farther back to the base of the cliffs, a dark silhouette comes into view along the right edge of the screen.
The figure is humanoid, wearing bulky armor and carrying a mace over his shoulder. Around him, similar, but smaller creatures are gathered with more sparse armor and feeble weapons. These are the gnorcs.

As the approach the foothills of the Artisan lands they come upon a Sentry who is standing guard at the base of a boulder.

Dragon Guard: [Spots the gnorcs and growls, assuming a fighting position.]

Gnasty Gnorc: [Steps out in front and points his mace at the dragon. Pulsating light goes towards it's head.]

Dragon Guard: [Is confused at first, then his eyes widen in surprise as the light grows brighter]

Cut to the other side of the boulder where a great flash of light and a ringing crash is heard. The Gnorcs appear from behind it and move in on the dragon lands. They come to the top of a large hill and stop. Gnasty takes a horn from around his neck and blows into it, sounding the attack.

Amethystia: [Wakes upon hearing the sound and stands up alarmed.] Drat! [growls]

Spyro and copper: [slowly wake up]

Spyro: [yawning] It can't be morning already.

[both notice their mom's distress and look worried.]

Copper: [approaches Amethystia] What's wrong Mom?

Amethystia: [nudges him back quickly[ Stay inside! [Goes onto the balcony to see what is going on]

Outside the dragons and gnorcs are engaged in combat. Though the gnorcs have advantage in numbers, the dragons appear to be winning. A few cowardly gnorcs run are seen fleeing the warzone. From atop the mountain, Gnasty looks over the battle with grim eyes. He lifts his mace towards the sky and twirls it in a circular motion as light once again pulsates from it. He then points it at a nearby dragon and shoot a ray of light. The dragon turns to crystal and the others look in shock.
Gnasty once more points his mace at the sky and it sends rays out in all directions, each one hitting a dragon and causing it to become crystal. Panic overcomes the dragons and they begin to retreat with the gnorcs in pursuit. Gnasty gnorc laughs evilly and continues to turn dragons into crystal, until Talonus comes up from behind him and knocks him down with a swipe from his paw.

Gnasty: [grunts and falls back, dropping his mace.]

Talonus: [Growls and breathes fire at him.]

Gnasty: [Rolls away from the fire and scrambles for his mace.]

Talonus: (Charges towards Gnasty)

Gnasty: [Grabs his mace and turns with just enough time to fire at Talonus, trapping him in crystal. Afterwards he cackles and resumes crystallizing the dragons.]

Amethystia watches in horror and backs away as all this is occurring. Behind her, Copper and Spyro stand confused and frightened as they hear the sounds of battle. Finally, realizing that it is no longer safe to hide in the castle, Amethystia turns to her children.

Amethystia: To the back door! Run!

Spyro and copper look confused, but comply and follow their mother outside. There they see the battle with their own eyes.

Spyro and Copper: [Staring in shock]

Amethystia: [Pushes them forward] Don't stop now. We need to keep going.

Spyro: Where are we going mom?!

Amethystia: [looks off in the distance] Past the mountains....away from here. Go! [She pushes them forward again.]

We see the family running, trying to keep away from the battle and avoid being seen. Some other dragons can be seen retreating as well, but are dogged by gnorc warriors and slowed down. Amethystia notices this and looks distressed. Once they reach cover behind one of the towers she stops for a moment to watch the dragons fighting to get away. She looks back at the mountain range that is significantly closer now. She turns to Copper and Spyro.

Amethystia: (lowers her head so they can hear her) You two must go on and get to the mountain pass.)

Copper: But what about you?

Amethystia: I have to help the others. Now listen to me. Once you reach the base of the mountains there should be a narrow path marked by two stone statues. The path will lead you up to a high cavern that leads out of the dragon lands.

Spyro: Out of the Dragon lands?!

The crashing sound of a dragon being turned to crystal is heard behind them. Amethystia gives Spyro and copper a nod before leaving to help her comrades. The two watch her leave.

Copper: [grabs Spyro by the neck.] Come on!

(They begin their journey toward the mountains and the player now has control)

Re: Spyro Alternate Reboot: The Last Dragon (part 1)

( Copper runs ahead of the player, but stops and looks back if the player does not follow. The battleground is blocked off by towers and debris that the player cannot get over. The mountain range can easily be seen and there are loose gems that lead the way to it. The area is mostly limited to going forward but there are some side areas in which treasure and other collectables are hidden. The player will have to get over obstacles in order to reach the mountain pass such as collapsed tower ruins, fast flowing rivers, and more.

Enemies take the form of giant rats, small gnorcs, medium gnorcs, and large gnorcs. Small gnorcs and medium gnorcs can be hurt by ramming and melee combat, though the medium gnorcs take more hits and are more easily disposed with fire. Large gnorcs require flame to be defeated. The different types of enemies have different attack patterns and it is to the player's advantage to recognize them.

Fighting alongside the player is Copper, who is able to deal more damage being older. He also has special moves that allow the player to take down an enemy more efficiently such as pinning down a large gnorc so the player can charge at it's head. Copper only does these moves a few times, however, so it's important for the player to spot them and make them count.)

Meanwhile, finding that she could not save her companions from being crystallized, Amethystia goes to catch up with her children.

The young dragons reach the mountains and Spyro spots the pass marked by statues. At first it looks as if they have to take on more gnorcs as a few of them are running towards the young dragons. However, instead of attacking, the gnorcs run right past spyro and copper. The young dragons look back at the fleeing gnorcs confused until a large rumble is heard behind them. They turn back to see a large mountain golem come around the path. Spyro and Copper back away in fear as the Golem advances on them.

Just as the Golem raised it's club, however, we see Amethystia come forth.

Amethystia: [Charging towards the Golem] Don't you dare hurt them! [She leaps and attacks the Golem, knocking it into the mountainside. While fighting she calls out to Spyro and Copper.] Run! Run away! Now!

Spyro and Copper hurry down the path.

(The player resumes control and now must navigate through the narrow mountain path. A few Gnorcs are found still guarding the path that must be fought. There are also some other enemies as well such as smaller stone golemlings and a fierce billy goat at one point. There are some side caverns that can be explored, but Copper is not able to follow you in as he is too large to enter. These caves hold treasure, but are also home to giant metallic spiders that cannot be killed at that time. The only thing the player can do is run from them and try to sneak past them.

The end of the path is reached by some platforming along ledges and climbing up vines, the latter of which has a small tutorial for. Copper is waiting on a ledge near the base of the cavern. )

Once Spyro and Copper are on the ledge they hear the groan of the Golem being defeated and turn. Amethysta flies out from around the bend and towards them. However, a crystallization beam soon becomes visible from among the clouds and heads straight for her. Amethysta does not see it, but the two young dragons do and dread spreads across their faces. There is a crash as Amethysta is struck by the spell, turning her to crystal. The crystallized dragon dragon falls from the sky and there is a shattering sound. The two, now orphan dragons stare in horror.

Coming down the path we see Gnasty and his lackeys search the area for survivors. The frightened dragon cubs frantically continue up towards the cavern before they are spotted. Spyro misjudges the jump at the base of the cavern and barely manages to grasp the ledge, sending stones tumbling downwards as he tries to pull himself up. The sound of the rocks alerts Gnasty and he looks over to see the two dragons. Copper grabs Spyro by the back of the neck and helps him up. The two run into the cave just as Gnasty sends a spell in their direction, following them in. The dragons try to outrun the beam and almost make it to the end of the cavern, but they are not fast enough. A flash of light fills the screen and a crashing sound is heard. Spyro slows to a stop outside the cave and looks back to find Copper trapped as crystal.

Spryo: [Panting] Copper!

He attempts to run back but the cave mouth caves in leaving crystallized Copper on the inside, and knocking spyro backwards and tumbling down the steep cliff into the valley below.

This is an awesome idea, taking the story of Spyro 1 and adding more detail. I would totally play this if it was a real game!

Re: Spyro Alternate Reboot: The Last Dragon (part 1)

Thanks! Though it's not going to be the exact same story, but yeah, it starts off like that. Later one he'll meet Hunter and Alora and go to Avalar. He doesn't free the dragons in this game. I think I'll actually save that for the last game.

Re: Spyro Alternate Reboot: The Last Dragon (part 1)

Upon reaching the base of the cliff his rolled is slowed to a rough stop. It takes a moment for him to recover, but once he does his first reaction is to turn back and try and scale the cliff to get back to his brother. He makes a few attempts, but has trouble due to his flightlessness and loose rocks. After that fails he grows angry and begins charging at the cliff, ramming his head against it. Those goes on for only a few charges before he eventually he slides back down and is left to sit there for a while, head hung low with a few tears running down his eyes. He then goes to lay down among the roots of a slightly upturned tree, where he gradually falls asleep.
Spyro slowly wakes up a few hours later, as his vision comes into focus he finally starts to take in his new environment, noticing that he is in the midst of a forest and that It is almost dawn with the sky just beginning to show the colors of sunrise. He gets up and gets ready look around some more when he hears a distinct buzzing sound. Spyro turns his head to see gold light emitting from under a pile of fallen rocks. As Spyro gets closer he recognizes the buzzing and begins uncovering the source of the glow. After removing a few rocks we see a golden dragonfly, the same one he and Copper had be following earlier. It’s wing is trapped under a rock and it cannot move.

Spyro: [Upon uncovering the dragonfly] It’s you....

Dragonfly: [ buzzes as it attempts to free itself.]

Spyro: Don’t worry. I got it. [He quickly removes the rock]

Dragonfly: [flies out upon being released and lands atop another rock in front of Spyro.]

Spyro: [sits down, looking at the dragonfly curiously.] What are you doing here?

Dragonfly: [begins to pantomime seeing something scary and flying away.]

Spyro: You were trying to get away too huh? [He looks around] Where are the others?

Dragonfly: [Looks down and then turns towards the face of the cliff]

Spyro: [Looks down as well] They’re stuck back there too huh?

    Dragofly: [nods sadly]

Spyro: Well we can’t get back that way. [Gets up and looks to the woods] I guess that’s the only place to go right now. Maybe there will be a way to get back. [turns back to Sparx] Do you wanna come with me?

    Dragonfly: [flies around Spyro happily]

Spyro: [smiles a little] Ok......Hey, what should I call you anyways? Do you have a name?

Dragonfly: [Nods and uses his glow to write out the word “Sparx” in the air.]

Spyro: Sparx huh? Well come on Sparx.

( Spyro and Sparx head into the woods. The area is free to explore, but not very big. Spyro can go inside trees and burrows to collect gems. The addition of Sparx gives Spyro extra health and increased resistance to magic due to Sparx’s magic.
Spyros enemies in this section consist of giant spiders (nonmetal ones), Stump monsters, bears, and rats. There is also a squirrel Spyro needs to smoke out of a tree in order to get a key that opens a chest you find.
Eventually the player can reach a clearing which goes to the next section and is marked by a sign that says “To Avalar”. Once you reach it it will ask you if you wish to continue. If you choose yes a small cutscene will occur where Spyro is caught in a trap that closes a cage around him and sets of an alarm. The scene fades to black.)

Re: Spyro Alternate Reboot: The Last Dragon (part 1)

The signal from Spyro’s trap reached the cluttered home of an elderly mole who jolts and falls out of his bed in surprise.
We cut to see The mole in his living room wearing a pair of glasses and a white lab coat. Also in the room are a fox-tailed faun girl and anthropomorphic cheetah, both of whom are considerably younger than the mole.

Professor: What Luck! I only had that trap out of a day and it caught something! What exactly cannot be said just yet, but knowing the local fauna it’s assured to be something ferocious, and sure to impress at the fair this coming tuesday.

Hunter: [Rubbing his eyes and yawning] You sure it’s not a false alarm or a rabbit or something?

Elora: You did say it was never tested before Professor.

Professor: Which is why I need you two to find it and bring it back here. If it’s a false alarm then I will make adjustments, but if it did capture something interesting then it will guarantee me a chance of being considered for researcher of the year!

Hunter: Do we have to go now? [Yawns again] It’s so early.

Elora: Come on Hunter, you can take a nap once we get back.

The faun leaves with the cheetah following behind her.

( The player can now take control of Hunter who is equipped with a bow and arrows, who can also perform a few melee moves as well. Elora is also playable, but is not very strong with attacks, instead she is useful for solving puzzles and has plenty of equipment.
There is the option of wandering around the town section for a bit, but most of it is blocked off for the time being. In the woods they encounter the same sort of enemies Spyro faced. The player can explore the woods and defeat enemies until they reach the sign to Avalar.)

They approach the area where the trap is. Hunter begins looking around nervously.

Hunter: Ya know.....I was thinking. Say the professor did catch something, and sat it was as mean and dangerous as he said it might be, wouldn’t that mean it would try to hurt us if we got too close?
Elora: Relax Hunter. It will be in a cage. [An owl hoots and she looks around nervous, her voice is now shaky and uncertain.] I-I’m sure we will be perfectly safe.

Hunter: But how do we know if the cage will hold whatever’s in there. If it’s super big and strong, it might break out right as we get close enough.

Elora: Don’t be such a baby.

They round the corner and see Spyro’s shadow projected against the cliff. The shadow, appearing far larger than Elora or Hunter, frightens them and they duck behind a log.

Elora: [whispers] It’s a dragon!

Hunter: [whispers] I didn’t think there were supposed to be any in the forest.

Elora: [whispering] There isn’t. No one has seen any in hundreds of year. Some don’t even think they exist. [After watching the shadow for a while she gets a determined look and comes out of hiding, creeping towards the clearing.]

Hunter: [Follows her worried, still speaking in whisper.] Hey! Wait up. [He catches up with her and grabs her arm to keep from going further.] Are you nuts? We can’t let it see us!

Elora: Hunter, nobody’s ever laid eyes a dragon since the times of the old legends, and there’s one right around that corner! Besides, it’s in professor’s trap. It can’t get out....right?

Hunter: But don’t remember the professor’s old books? The stories?! [Elora turns away and keeps walking. Hunter sighs and follows.] My clan has plenty of tales of dragons. Dragons are huge! They have sharp claws like this! [makes a gesture to indicate size] Teeth like this! [makes a bigger gesture] And they breathe fire like nobody’s business. They sound much more dangerous than anything else the professor could’ve caught. [They walk into the clearing] I’m serious, the dragon will be very big, very powerful...[catches a glimpse of Spyro]...surprisingly adorable.

Elora: [seeing spyro who is trying to knock find a way out of the cage] Awww....It’s only a baby dragon.

Spyro: [Turns in surprise upon hearing her voice and stares at the new comers]..H-hey! I’m not a baby. And who are you guys anyway? Why am I in here?

Hunter and Alora: [both are staring at Spyro curiously.]

Hunter: [walks up to Spyro’s cage] You’re a dragon?!

Spyro: [irritated at being trapped] You got a problem with that pussycat? [charges at the bars but only manages to shake the cage he’s in]

Elora: [Also stepping forward, excited] Just wait until the professor sees this! A real live dragon! This will be the talk of all of Avalar!

Spyro: Avalar? What’s that?

Elora: Avalar is our home. This forest is technically part of Avalar. The professor created this trap and hoped to prove it’s worth at tuesdays great festival in Glimmer by catching something amazing, but you are much better than anything he could have hoped for!

Spyro: I don’t want to be stuck in this cage for some fair! Let me out!

Elora: We can’t.

Hunter: Only the professor knows how to open this thing. We didn’t even know if it would work.

Spyro: [Lies down, irritated and disappointed]

Hunter: Look, we can take you back to the professor. That’s why we’re basically out here anyway. We take you back, he lets you out, and you can just come with us to the fair.

Hunter and Elora grab the edges of Spyros cave and the scene ends with a fade to black.

Re: Spyro Alternate Reboot: The Last Dragon (part 1)

The next scene shows the three arriving through the front door of the professor’s home, Spyro being wheeled in in his cage by the other two. The professor is working on a computers, his back to them.

Professor: [Turns around] Ah good! You’re back. I take it you have returned with my trap, with some interesting creature inside it I hope.

He then spots the young purple dragon sitting in the cage. The mole gasps, dropping the clipboard he was holding, and scuttles over to the front of the cage.

Professor: Great Scott! Is that what I think it is?! [He doffs his glasses and cleans them, squinting, before putting them back,] It is! A dragon! I caught a dragon! [He dances in place, exceedingly happy.]

Spyro: [watches the Professor’s antics, confused. He then becomes irritated.] Hey! You’re going to let me out right?
Professor: [stops dancing] Hmmm? Oh!....Well I suppose since you asked, I’ll let you out. Let me see. [He goes back to his computer, still sounding giddy with excitement and chuckling] A dragon! Unbelievable!

Spyro: [Shakes his head in confusion. He is taken by surprise as the cage suddenly pops open.]

Professor: There you go!

The little dragon climbs out and begins looking around. The living room is not very large, with most of it’s space being occupied by and oversized computer system. Discarded machinery and parts are lined against the walls with sheets covering them. There is a green couch situated next to a end table and a lamp, marking the actual living room area of the ‘living room’. In the background professor continues on about his ‘discovery’

Professor: ...like finding an artifact out of legend, only it talks! Oh boy, wait until the judges see this! To think I was excited over a simple mechanical trap earlier. I can just imagine the look on that old windbag Quailsworth’s face...

Spyro: [Turns back to the Professor] What’s the big deal with me being a dragon? I can’t be that far from the dragon lands, can I? Why is everyone getting so worked up?

Professor: Why wouldn’t we be? Dragons haven’t been seen in this land for thousands of years! Many believe them to be extinct, or to have never existed in the first place, and yet here you are, clear as day.

Spyro: [Annoyed] I barely know where here is. I know it’s a place called Avalar, but I’ve never heard of it until today, [He turns to Hunter and Elora] and I start off getting trapped and taken to some mad scientists house by a cat and....[He pauses while squinting at Elora] What are you? Some kind of goat?

Elora: [A bit offended by the comment] I’m a faun you dork! [She sighs and calms down]. You said you came from a place called the dragon lands. Could you take us there?

Hunter: [reels on her] What?! And see a bunch of dragons?! Not iddy biddy ones like that, but huge mean ones?!

While Hunter rants Spyro becomes distraught at being reminded of the dragon lands and his family. He slowly begins to slink to the other room, head down.
Hunter trails off as he and the rest notice Spyro’s departure.

Hunter:......Was it something I said?

In the next it is later in afternoon, Spyro has been moping around in the spare room for most of the day, dwellin on recent events. There is a knock on the door, and Hunter comes in with a plate full of food.

Hunter: Hey buddy, [he lifts up the plate a little for emphasis] thought you might want some food. [He sets the plate down by Spyro, who is laying on the floor.] We really didn’t know what you’d like so there’s a bit of everything there.

Spyro: [Turns his head, ignoring the food]

Hunter: [Ears droop, he bends down so he’s closer to Spyro’s height] Awww....What’s a matter? Was it all the stuff I said about dragons earlier? [He waves his hand dismissively] Don’t listen to me at all. I don’t even think about what I say usually, or what I do for that matter.....Is it about what I said?

Spyro: [shakes head no and curls up a bit more]

Hunter: Oh....[goes over and sits on the bed. He starts fiddling with the a paperweight] Well like I said I’m not so good with the talking and things coming out good. Especially around my uncle. He’s an important person in our clan, and I’m kind of sort of an embarrassment to him. I’m not stupid or anything...well not mostly..well nevermind. The point is that I try not to let those things get me down too much. I know there will be days when the world seems to want to bring you down, and there’s nothing you can do about it. That’s why I don’t stop to think about it. I just go onto the next thing hoping that things will get better.

Spyro: [listens to hunter, a little surprised at his earnestness]

Hunter: [Stands up] I guess that’s all I can really say. [palms the back of his neck] I know it’s not real inspiring, but it’s what I know, that and you should try the soup. It’s Elora’s special recipe. It’s pretty good. [He begins to walk out of the room, before stopping to look back at Spyro] By the way, we never really got to introduce ourselves. The names Hunter. How bout you?

Spyro: [looking a little cheerier with a small smile on his face] Spyro......Thanks for the food....Hunter.

Hunter: [Smiles and goes out the door]
