Re: Mayan Calender 2012
they found water on Mercury? fascinating, i wonder what elements they'll find on other planets. i wonder if the discovery that's coming has to do with elements like water.

He said "water". Water is an element, not a chemical.

Somehow I’m remind of when I read about Anne Boleyn’s ghost.
Ok guys here’s a riot for ya's
So a guy’s going about doing...stuff.
And what, pray tell doth he see?
Why Anne Boleyn’s ghost.
Now most cases this story would be fairy boring, you know he sees her fade away the end. Nope not this time.
This time Anne was traveling in style.
This man claims to have seen...wait for it.
a carriage drawn by headless horses and within this carriage was Anne Boleyn holding her own head!
I mean you couldn’t get a more eccentric ghost if you tried
((Ok i swar thats gonna be the last Tudor thing i post! I SWEAR XD))

Re: Mayan Calender 2012
Mercury has an extremely variable temperature. A day on mercury takes about two months to complete. Half the time one side is pointed towards the sun, while the other half of the time it's pointed away. This means that you have 30 days of pure sunlight, and considering there is little atmosphere, it becomes extremely hot (400° C). During the night there is no atmosphere to contain the heat, so it gets extremely cold (-200° C).
However, the ice was discovered near the poles. The is because Mercury has a spin tilt of less than 1°, so there is no seasonal change. The poles are always iced, so there is no way that water could evaporate like it could on the rest of the surface.

Well what do you know, it's not an element...it's two combined together! Ok then let me rephrase my metaphor..."Hydrogen and Oxygen are pretty big swingers!".

Ah, you are correct. I thought 'dihydrogen oxide' sounded strange.
Speaking of water jokes, two men walk into a bar. The first man says 'I'll have some H2O', and the second man says 'I'll have some H2O, too'
The second man died.

I think pretty much everyone here loves that movie. Myself included. So underrated.

Only flaw I had a real problem with in Atlantis was the villain. HURRRRRR DESTROY PEOPLE SO WE CAN MAKE MORE MONEY HURRRRRRR Its the Pocahontas villain all over again. I hate that *bleep*. Thankfully the rest of the movie makes it up.
