true. but i don't care if it feels like a final level before a boss, i love flying in it. i assume you couldn't fly over mountains because... well, i guess they needed boundaries somewhere. you have to understand that it's a video game, with only so much space on disks, and that take time to develop. believe me, if this were real life, i'd be complaining a lot more than this, but for some entertainment (read: escapism), DOTD didn't do too bad of a job.

36 I'm not going to say that for you personally DOTD didn't do "a bad job" but you have to admit that there are hundreds of other games that are a much better use of your time.

no, i really can't say that. if there is anything better, i haven't played it. i really do not play video games a lot, this is the only series of video games i play. i don't even play Megaman or Guitar Hero anymore, and i used to like those a lot.

i've played games with friends over the years, and their games seemed pretty fun, but DOTD really sticks out at me.

also, i'm struggling to generally call video games a "good use of time".

What consoles do you have? Or do you have a decent PC or laptop? Perhaps an IOS device?

I doubt low-poly models with a basic texturing system would take up more
than half of the disk's space. At least for Xbox. Maybe for a PS2, though.

Skyrim...fallout...white knight chronicles...

Just 3 games that have nice Large arias, dotd suffered from having arias that were nice to look at, just to small for free flight to make a good impact

On other nte i got Woman in black on dvd, love that film

Open world games like Red Dead Redemption and Vice City also count too. Heck all of the GTA games are like that. While we're at it Xenoblade.

Also by the sounds of it he hasn't tried to many other games so we might be able to help him choose some good ones. In this day and age no matter what your budget you can always find a great game.

PS2. had an Atari, NES, maybe SNES, PS1, and GBA, various things happened to them and i no longer play them, but i am familiar with the systems.

anything that came out after DOTD, i probably have not played, unless my friend happens to own it on the PS3. i do not know what "IOS" even means. never heard of White Knight Chronicles @ Clock-la. i'm not a really big gamer, anyway. yes, i'm on a site about one, but like i said earlier, this is the only one i still play.

and @ Latias, you have a good point with GTA. okay, disk space isn't the issue. not on the development team though so i can't say why then.

This is strangely reminiscent of all the times I've been told I need to "give Skylanders a chance" despite not having much interest in it. It won't do any good to tell me how great it is and what I'm missing out on if I just don't care.

I remember the games MX Unleashed, MX vs ATV Unleashed, MX vs ATV
Untamed, etc. Man, those games were so fun to play. I had most fun with MX
Unleashed. Good times, good memories.

I don't understand what you're so happy about. THQ was one of the better publishers around. They give deep discounts, have an excellent amount of games, and they recently even did a Humble Bundle.

They're one of the few publishers that don't constantly screw their customers.

That's why I'm actually pretty sad they're filing for bankruptcy. As much as I
like DICE (a branch of EA), EA can be fairly greedy with money. THQ seemed
like the humble company, as far as I know. And they made non-shooter
games that I actually enjoyed playing.

[EDIT] After reading the article, I learned that THQ is filing for Chapter 11
bankruptcy. In other words, THQ might still be able to live on.
