Mayan Calender 2012

This is an interesting video about the Mayan Calender. As far as I'm concerned our world won't be destroyed, but this date has deep social and religious significance to the Mayan people, and will no doubt affect our civilization in one way of another.

That date doesn't really have significance, though. The Mayan calendar, unlike our 1-year calendars, are over 300 years long. December 21st isn't supposed to indicate the end of the world or the start of an era, it's just supposed to represent that it's the start of a new 300-year cycle.

I'd like to think that no member of the human race is stupid enough to end there own life over an ancient myth.

and exactly my point-I don't believe our world-much less our Civilization, will end. Though the Maya were good at predicting Celestial events, like Eclipses, they could'nt predict the end of their own civilization, so how could they possibly hope to predict the end of our civilization? Some people are just hysterical about the end of our existence. Why anyone would actually look forward to such an event is beyond me.

But i do think there will be suicides and stuff sadly (Stupid people)
Like one guy last year said it's the end of the world and the fool convinced gullible people to rid themselves of all the belongings and there were a few cases of suicide.

I don't believe the world is going to end on December 21st. If it did I don't fear death I've enjoyed my life. And would like to think we're all going to a better place.

But once again I don't believe in this end of the world stuff. Still is sad if some people did commit suicide because of this end of the world stuff.

2012 is NOT the end of the world. If I told you how many people thought the world would end, and what years they thought it would end, it would take all night.

Besides, if the world really does end, I believe we'll all go to heaven.

Believe me, I was really scared at first.

But believe it or not, they actually found another part of the calender. And I always say ''Just because they were able to do brain surgery without the tools we use today doesn't mean they predicted the end of the world.''

And come to think of it if you are spiritual and you do believe in the Mayans prediction then your pretty much admitting that you believe in there gods.

I think i took the view of the whole one god but all religions are the correct path to him. tongue that said why is it people are so obsessed with the idea that our all loving god wishes to shoot fire down at us killing all the children he loves so much? XD it makes no sense in any context

just look at y2k and other "apocalypses".

even though the world isn't gonna end, I'd highly suggest staying inside on december 21st, just because some crazy people that believe it tend to try to take down other people along with them.

Well if people riot it will upset our already delicate economy worsening the lives of millions. I personally would not mind getting rid of the few idiots that want to ruin life for everyone for there small time selfish gain.
