Re: Art / Drawing
Mädchen wollen Deutsch, nicht Französisch.
anyway, i want to get back into drawing again. the potential's there, and holy crap am i terrible at digital art.*
a lot of the time i just end up drawing the basics of something to get the idea across (trees don't have leaves, little shading, etc), even though i could probably do more. i am hoping to work up the courage, i guess, to add details to my drawings. we'll see how this goes.
*i'm good at image editing, but not making completely original digital images.

Re: Art / Drawing
I don't mind German, I just think it's a very rough-sounding language. Almost
like there are a lot of "spit" sounds and other rough sounds. I've always been
partial to smoother sounds, even names for people such as Sarah.
But Germans have the best guns.
Regarding how you are better at editing digital images, I'm pretty much the
same way. I can edit game textures and images (such as scope reticles) fairly
well, but digital art is a lot more complicated, and most of the time you're
working with layers. More tools are used too, so it takes time to learn them.

Well, I find it to be an interesting language. I don't want to learn it to "get the
interest of chicks". My goal is not to date as many women as possible, but to
find the one who I will spend the rest of my life with.
Find someone French.

From what I can gather, you shouldn't even call her a friend. Real friends
look out for each other and share each other's pains and also happiness...
"So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing."
1 Thessalonians 5:11
If you want to remain a friend to her, talk to her and try to get things
sorted out. If she continues to treat you in the same way she did in the
past, that is when you should consider ending the friendship between you
two. This is only my advice, you can follow it if you want to.

And to get back on topic, some of you might find this drawing cute:
I found it when randomly searching "spyro horse" on Google Images.

Spyro... with a horse leg? Who thinks up these things?!
You gotta love kids when they get in a creative mood. I found that one on
DevArt. It's pretty interesting what ideas kids come up with.

Devart has some....questionable stuff on there though. Even that one you posted I find pretty ugly(And quoting Family Guy is one of the lowest forms of humor you can try and pull off)
And now for all you aspiring artists. I have one thing to say.

Re: Art / Drawing
I haven't been making art because I feel like I lost all motivation. What's
weird is that I want to make more, but I don't have the ability to sit down and
make it. It pretty much feels like a chore more than something entertaining.
Makes me want to cry tears. (As opposed to crying non-tears?)

Young days were full of exploration and doing odd things. Like running around
and riding a bike in heavy rain. Man, I miss those days. Two Sundays ago, it
was raining during church, from 8 AM to the evening. It was pretty outside, all
of the saturated colors. I was sitting on the porch/patio right outside of the
sanctuary, and I was imagining rolling around in the mud. Man, that would be
fun. Some day I need to just ... get in some old clothes and go hay-wire in the
rain just to go back in time.

Maybe it's because I'm too young to know how it feels to be 'old', but isn't 21 still considered 'young'?

As far as I know 21 or younger is considered adult in pretty much every culture.

Re: Art / Drawing
it's considered young by the elderly, it's considered old by toddlers, in between it seems to pretty much be just how you feel. i'm 18, but a day rarely goes by where i feel like it. i feel more like i'm 35, or 7, or a thousand.
anyway, i can't help but feel like there's something wrong with making such basic (by comparison) statements about a complex and expansive concept like time.

Re: Art / Drawing
I'f you wanna get all philosophical about it it then sure be as young as you like. Scientifically, however, at 21 your a few years under a quarter of your life if that helps.

Twenty-one doesn't feel old to me, but then I think about how in only 9 more years I'll be 30, and then 10 more after that I'll be 40. It makes life seem really short, so I recommend not thinking like this. ![]()

Re: Art / Drawing
Optimists and pessimists... but wouldn't the optimist say that it's half full? As in our lives are half over? That sounds more pessimistic than optimistic.
Anyway, the most depressing thing that I find is that every year seems shorter than the last as it takes up a smaller percentage of your life. When you're 1 years old, 1 year makes up your whole life. When you're 2, it only makes up half. Because of this, many 80-year-olds would estimate the middle of their life to be around when they're 20, not 40, in terms of what it feels like to them... that's pretty disturbing.
