if Spyro had noticed the sun coming out, how may things have turned out differently? what other paths would he have taken? would they have been for the best? how would the situation with Riptonia have worked out? would Hunter have found his brain and/or his running shoes and defeated Ripto himself? how would that have affected things? or, what other dragon would the Professor have dragged in? how would that have affected things? would Spyro have ended up in Avalar anyway? with all the exploring he does, you never know where he might have gone. if he had, how would his meeting of the citizens be different in a time of peace? how would his relationships with them have been different without Ripto over their heads? would Spyro have fallen in love with Elora and honeymooned in Gulp's Overlook? or would nothing have worked, and Spyro would have had to fight Ripto anyway? what if he had ended up in the Forgotten Worlds first, and restored the magic there first? would that have affected Avalar in any way? since the Professor, Hunter, and Moneybags are all there in Spyro 3, the worlds are apparently connected somehow. would the other characters (Sheila, Sgt. Byrd, etc) have traveled to Avalar, too? how would that have affected things?

Let's say that scenario is the alternative, parallel universe where the TLoS stuff happens.

In Spyro's world, the sun comes out, and he goes home to his dragonfly parents. Years pass, during which Sparx learns to talk. One peaceful day, Spyro is beating Sparx in a race when Sparx yells out of jealousy, "You're stupid and fat!" Spyro, about to retort, loses focus just long enough for a tree right in front of him to escape his notice, and collides into it face first. Due to this accident, Spyro suffers permanent facial deformities and brain damage which wipe out most of his personality. The events of ANB and TEN follow years later.

Meanwhile, Ripto is a tyrant in the world of Avalar, allowing Crush to crush and Gulp to gulp all who oppose him. The tragic deaths of Elora, Zoe, and the Professor in this manor transform Hunter into the brooding, somber, cape-wearing leader of the cheetah world (or however it works, give me a break, I still haven't played the game.)
