Official E3 2012 Discussion Topic

So E3s here. Games will be announced and me being a gamer with no life will watch pretty much all the conferences.

Today was the Microsoft, EA and Ubisoft conferences. Sony will be on pretty soon at the time of this post. You can get the rundown on E3 here.

As for the conferences themselves. Ubisoft was the best so far. Microsoft was pretty much all about Kinect(AGAIN) and had a trailer for Halo 4 and a new Gears game. The best part was when the creators of South Park came in for the South Park RPG and were dissing Microsoft

EA was just...awful. Bunch a shooters and Dead Space 3.

Ubisoft wasn't much better and didn't get good till at the end when they showed a game that actually looks great called Watch Dogs. Basically this cyberpunkish game. A trailer can be found on the link I gave earlier(I think)

Anyway Sony conference in 36 minutes at the time of post. My body is ready.

EDIT: And the Sony conference is over. It was pretty good too. Showing Quantums Dreams new game(BEYOND!!!) and the new Naughty Dog The Last of Us. I just hated how they spender a good 20 minutes demonstrating some wonderbook thing for kids.

Didn't watch any of the conferences, but I looked at some of the Sony recaps. I couldn't care less about Microsoft, and it sounds like I was right to do so. More Kinect and FPS stuff. hmm

Naughty Dog's "The Last of Us" looks really awesome. Kind of like a more serious/somber Uncharted with a lot less shooting. (guess it's hardly Uncharted at all when I think about it) Watch Dogs looked pretty freaking cool as well.

Not gonna lie, even though I haven't played an Assassin's Creed game, 3 looked interesting what with the ship battles and stuff. And the time period and setting interests me more than the previous ones'.

Not sure if this was E3 news or not, but there's apparently going to be a new Ratchet and Clank downloadable game called "Full Frontal Assault" (lol). I guess it'll be short like "Quest for Booty" since its a PSN downloadable, which is unfortunate, but I'm glad Insomniac's keeping Ratchet alive still.

Can't wait to see what Nintendo will show tomorrow. That's one I would actually want to watch. Unfortunately I have work tomorrow morning. sad My body is ready, nonetheless.

I'm interested in seeing more information on Halo 4, 5, and 6. I saw some info in Game Informer, but that was two months ago. SOMETHING had to have changed.

I watched the Nintendo Pre-E3 thing and Microsoft's conference, and I'm looking forward to Nintendo's conference later.

Nintendo you failed me. I mean the 3DS stuff was great(PAPER MARIO 3D big_smile )and so is some of the games on Wii U(That isn't just ports from last year) but all in all I was kinda disappointed.

I totally missed the whole conference and nobody's telling me what I missed... so what exactly did I miss?

Pikiman 3. Third party stuff for Wii U(Arkham City and Mass Effect 3 for one). Paper Mario 3D and Nintendoland which is basically like Playstation Home.

Assassin is in the open, surrounded by at least half a dozen people with guns, they don't fire a SINGLE shot.

I'm mainly looking forward to Pikmin 3 and New Super Mario Bros. U. I nearly wet myself when I heard about Pikmin 3, but I'm not 100% impressed with what I've seen so far.

Just want to point out that the E3 conferences are marketed towards investors. They are trying to convince them that they are spearheading the casual market, since that's where gaming is growing the most.

The good stuff isn't going to show in the conferences, but rather the floor below it with all the developers, gamers, and nerds.

I was a little disappointed by Nintendo's conference as well. It was all just predictable, and they didn't announce any cool new things for the Wii U that surprised me. I was hoping that they would unveil what project Retro Studios was working on for the Wii U, and maybe a new 3D Mario for the console. (Sunshine 2 would be epic, and would probably sell me on the console, tbh)

New Super Mario Bros U looks fun, but only because of the co-op aspect. I loved playing NSMBW, but playing alone is no fun. That's why I wasn't thrilled about NSMB2 on 3DS. Paper Mario 3DS finally got a name and a holiday release, so that's cool. I'm new to the series, just finishing up TTYD. Wish they could have shown a few more 3DS titles though.

Hopefully we'll hear more stuff as the week goes on.

There having another conference tomorrow at 9PMEST. This one will be filled with 3DS game announcements.

I kind of want a 3DS now because I found out they have purple ones tongue but I can't justify buying one because there aren't enough games on it that I care about. A Kirby game like The Amazing Mirror would be awesome, though.

There's alot of good games for it out already IMO.

Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance
Heroes of Ruin.

Yea sure theres only 2 original games there(Others being ports/sequels) but still applys.

Mario Kart 7 is good too. Online mode gives you a lot of playtime. You would probably like the Paper Mario series and Luigi's Mansion too. I've heard Kid Icarus is a lot of fun as well.

Feels like we're peer pressuring you into buying the system. tongue

Watching replays of the press conferences now.

I've seen recaps of them. Sounds like some good stuff. The Wii U Pikman 3 and New Super Mario Bros U. We're just amazing!

So the 3DS conference just ended.

That conference was...very disheartening and disappointing in many areas...

I mean all they did was just show more of the games that were revealed yesterday(Castlevania and Paper Mario mostly) That was pretty much it.

I was hoping for a Majora's Mask 3D, but I can settle with Paper Mario. I think it will work perfectly on it. The Super Paper Mario for the Wii was good, so I hope they keep with the platformer style rather than go back to the RPQ-esque fighting.

The ones that might interest you is probably Watch Dogs, Last of Us(Made by the same people who made Uncharted.) and a Castlevania game for the 3DS.
