R.I.P. Tammy
My wonderful yellow eared slider, Tammy, passed away today. I will remember her and keep her in my heart forever. Here is a memorial I wrote for her.
Tammy was only one when she passed away on the tragic day of 11/10/07. She had been fighting pneumomia for the past month. The day before she died, she was very weak and slid off of her basking area. When I found her, she had her head in the water and had almost drown. Somehow, my mom revived her by gently pulling and pushing her limbs in and out to force air into her lungs and running warm water on her. Just when we thought all hope was lost she jerked her head up. My mom placed her in a very shallow bowl of warm water under a UV light, which seemed to help her out a lot. After that, we placed her in her origonal tank. The next morning, she was still alive, but just barely. I held her as she stared at me with kind and careing eyes. Her small body was shutting down slowly. Tears ran down my face as I talked to her about the wonderful times we had had together that summer swimming in the kiddy pool and telling her I loved her with all of my heart. Her eyes shut slowly, and her head lowered into the palm of my hand. I gave her a kiss and buried her the next morning. I will see you in heaven Tammy, were we can have yet more fun times. You will be missed by me, my family, my friends, and your tankmates, Turquoise and Spot.
Here are some pictures of her:

Aw, sorry for you loss.
It's really nice how much you loved and cared for her.
And what a mom for reviving her the first time. ![]()
