Youtube Channel

Hey all,

Remember when we talked about reviving the forum a few weeks ago? With SR's permission, I've just created an official Youtube channel for Spyroforum. Thanks to Hwd45 for the awesome idea!

Right now I'm thinking we can use this channel for speedruns, secrets and walkthroughs made by our users, updates about the site, and maybe even this current contest that was just posted (check it out if you haven't already, by the way). If you have any other ideas, let us know!

I may also set up accounts on other social network accounts such as Facebook, Google+, and Twitter since that seems to be where the internet is heading these days. If you are interested in doing some social networking for SpyroForum, you can apply here. Just write a paragraph or so as an application.

Hopefully this will bring in some new users and renewed interest in Spyro and the forums!

Re: Youtube Channel

I honestly think this is a wonderful idea to revive the forums, and since most of us (Clock-La, me, HWD45, Swaffy, and others I forgot) have channels, the channel could also be used to show what usually we chat about on Spyro Forums (besides Spyro of course!). I subbed also, just in case.

Re: Youtube Channel

i have a Twitter account that i haven't bothered to promote, but i certainly know my way around a Twitter profile. it wouldn't be any real trouble to be in charge of that, i expect, i could even make the account for you and customize it etc, but i'm not sure about what would be... tweeted. more details on that would be nice before i consider this a formal (so to speak) application.

Re: Youtube Channel

So far I'm thinking the social network posts would be about any contests we have and new videos uploaded on the youtube channel. I will make a list of requirements and stuff and post it tomorrow. The accounts should be made by then, too.

Re: Youtube Channel

I'm liking this idea. Time to find recording programs for playthroughs of games.

Ah, I forgot about this!

I always use Twitter and YouTube, so both of them would be awesome. I can't wait to see the stuff being uploaded to YouTube.

Re: Youtube Channel

I would be willing to manage a Spyroforum account. Perhaps Facebook or Google+.

As for why I am applicable, I know my way around both of those sites and visit them frequently enough that I could update them when need be. Also, I have some experience with managing facebook groups, as I have a couple fan pages under my belt.

Re: Youtube Channel

By the way, should the channel just be for SpyroForums, or can it include videos of some of the people here talking about the Forums?

Re: Youtube Channel

So, how would the YouTube channel work? Would we send videos to an email address or something If we wanted ours to get uploaded to there (e.g. for Contests and Speedruns)?

It'll probably be easiest if everyone uploads videos on their own channel, and we can add them to playlists. The email address associated with the account is [email protected]; they could be sent there, too, if they need to be editted in any way.

Re: Youtube Channel

Hmm. I like these ideas, I will support them where I can. A nice chunk of my
entertainment/gaming time is spent being a part of KSI, a large Xbox gaming
community with over 4,500 members. I run a squad along side another guy,
so it can get hectic sometimes. But I will support what you guys are doing
where I can, only for the YouTube part. I don't use any social networking
services other than Xbox Live and YouTube.

That's good because I've got some Spyro Beta stuff ready to upload to my channel tongue

Are you sure you're 12? Your voice is also kind of deep for a 12-year-old.

Re: Youtube Channel

Sometimes, depending on what I eat, my voice would get lighter or lower. A
few times after I ate pancakes my voice was as low as a bass guitar. It's fun
talking when that happens ... and I like that weird rumbling feeling.

My channel, add me (however that's done) if you'd like to.

1. inbox
2. address book
3. add new contact or whatever

why does YouTube keep changing things, they really don't have to, and they always change things for the worse
