Re: R.M.S. Titanic's 100th Anniversary.
imdb generally doesn't approve of that movie. i looked it up.
anyway, the thing that caught my attention was the poor taste in the making of this film. no matter how awful it apparently is, making a not-sequel that is clearly a sequel is just awful. the events surrounding the Titanic were a tragedy, not something off which some money-grubbing cheap-*bleep* *bleep* company can capitalize. when is The Asylum going to release a sequel to 9/11, or the revolutions in Africa? maybe there will be a school called Columbine II where global warming shoots and kills innocent students? when is enough, enough?

Re: R.M.S. Titanic's 100th Anniversary.
Guys...the Titanic is being ressurected!
That's right the Titanic is being reconstructed as we speak, but in digital form for the entire world to enjoy. From ORM Entertainment comes one of the most detailed recreations of Titanic and it'll all be accessible from a computer. Of everything Titanic related going on at the moment in light of her centenary this has got to be the one I am most excited about. From each divot in her haul, to the pipes that lined her corridors, the Titanic is being faithfully recreated from bow to stern and nothing will be left out. Every room from the luxurious 1st class lounge to the cramped crew spaces are being rebuilt in detail as the setting for this amazing Cryengine 3 based game. In the game you will play out the story of burglar who managed to flee England on Titanic, but in the end you will become the last hope for passengers trapped in the fated ship.
You can check out this project and follow their progress on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/TitanicLostintheDarkness
And see a new trailer for the game on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkQxrOml … e=youtu.be

The 100th anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic has finally come to an end; thank you all for participating in it and remembering one century later.

Re: R.M.S. Titanic's 100th Anniversary.
I have something to contribute. But before I do, I would like to say that Titanic 2, while being a horrible movie, is on of the best B movies ever. Of course, not nearly as bad as The Room. Anyways...
ok, now for my post...

Yup. You read right. There have been several people posting facebook updates, tweets, and other blogging devices stating that they had no idea that Titanic was a real ship, and not just a movie. Humanity has hit a new all-time low.
Oh well.

Wake me up... when September ends is here...

Saw the ending to the Titanic on ITV. I realy enjoyed it. I must admit I love how this lady refuses to go on a lifeboat when her husband tells her the dog is probably dead then when the dogs are brought up deck she grabs hers and somone elses gets on a life boat and says nothing to her husband xD

Re: R.M.S. Titanic's 100th Anniversary.
Well, I guess the anniversary is over NOW. On this day in 1912, Titanic's survivors reach Pier 45 in New York city, and arrive on the Cunard liner, RMS Carpathia, which, in 1918, is torpedoed and sunk by a German U-Boat.

Yep. She was torpedoed on July 18, 1918. Here's a picture of her sinking:

And here's the story of the sinking:
On the 15th of July 1918, she left Liverpool bound for Boston, just as she had done 15 years earlier on her maiden voyage. Being part of a convoy of several ships, she travelled at a zig-zag course along with an escort. Early on Wednesday morning, July 17th, the escort left the convoy, which then split up in two. The Carpathia continued
west along with six other ships as commodore ship, her being the largest one.
Three and a half hour later, the menacing track of a torpedo was seen bearing down on the ship's port side. The helm was put hard-a-starboard and the port engine was put full astern. But it was too late. The torpedo struck on the port side, between the No. 4 hold and the stoke hold below the bridge. Just seconds later, another torpedo hit the ship in the engine room, thus disableing her ability to escape. In the explosion, five firemen were killed, and the two engineers were seriously injured. In addition, the explosion wrecked all the electrical gear, including the wireless, as well as two of the ship's lifeboats.
Immediately, Captain Prothero ordered all hands to the boat stations. By flags, he signalled to the other ships of the convoy to send out wireless calls. He then ordered rockets to be fired to attract patrol vessels in the vicinity. After that, the other ships scattered and went on at full speed to escape the still lurking submarine.
As the ship started to settle at the head with a slight list to port, the passengers and crew left the ship. In all, eleven boats were lowered. Captain Prothero, the chief officer, first and second officers and the gunners remained on the sinking ship, seeing to it that all the confidential books and documents were thrown overboard. The captain then signalled one of the lifeboats to come alongside, and he and the remaining crew abandoned their ship. The Carpathia was now sinking more rapidly. An hour later, the submarine was seen surfacing and a third torpedo was fired at the already dying Carpathia, this one hitting about No. 5 hatch. Ten minutes later, the Carpathia was gone, some two and a half hours since the initial impact.
About a quarter of an hour later, the submarine was again spotted, this time appearing to head for the remaining lifeboats. But now, the sloop H.M.S. Snowdrop had come to the rescue and fired about ten shots at the lurking enemy. Although none of the shots managed to hit, the submarine was forced to submerge and escape the scene. After circling the area for some time, the Snowdrop picked up the remaining lifeboats at about
1 p.m. On the evening of July 18th, the survivors were safely landed in Liverpool.
In the sinking, all of the 57 passengers were saved, and of the crew of 223, five died in the explosion caused by the second torpedo. Another three were seriously injured and had to be taken to a hospital upon arrival in Liverpool.
Today, the Carpathia remains were she once sank, at position 49. 28 N., 19. 46 W., about 120 miles west of Fastnet. Up until recently, no exploration of the wreck had been made.
However, on September 9th 1999, the National Underwater Marine Agency, also known as NUMA, announced that they had discovered the wreck of the brave Cunarder. She lies in waters 514 feet deep, sitting upright and in a very good condition. Virtually intact, the only visible damage are the holes caused by the three torpedoes, and it is from these that the only debris come from. It is worth noting that the chairman of NUMA is Dr. Clive Cussler, the man who wrote the fiction novel 'Raise the Titanic'. His intentions are to return to the Carpathia's resting place and conduct an extensive exploration of the wreck, perhaps even document it on film.

I'm not sure I heard about that. I do know there was a stoker that survived the Titanic, and went onto the Empress of Ireland, which collided with a Norweigian ship and sank, one of the deadliest sinkings in history. He survived that, and went onto the Lusitania. And when the Lusitania was torpedoed, he yelled out to no one in particular, ''Now WHAT?!''. He eventually was cheated out of a job, because he went on two more ships that sank, and was deemed an ''unlucky man.''

When I first watched Titanic when I was 6, that music and scene always made me cry. I was ticked when I saw the Simpsons Movie parodied it.
