by the way, to make the "oh" sound in Spanish, you'd just need the "o", and the word "o" in Spanish means "or".

I'm really starting to hate Spanish because it's pretty much taking over all the other language programs at all the schools around here. We even had the kindergarten my sister went to replaced with a "Spanish immersion school." Because it's so useful to be fluent in Spanish in Minnesota. roll

Ah, that makes sense I guess. I didn't know there were a lot of Cubans there. Seems kind of weird that they'd be here seeing as we're not allowed to go there.

I was born in Florida, but I only lived there until I was two or three because my dad wanted to move here, so I barely remember anything about it. I kind of wish we'd stayed sometimes because I hate cold weather. sad

... it's useful to know Spanish anywhere. it's useful to know everything you can everywhere, especially with the internet. and why would you hate a language because it's everywhere? English is everywhere, don't you hate that?

There's mostly Cubans here. I hate It.

i really hope there are no Cubans on this forum.

No, it's not any more useful to know Spanish around here than French or German or Japanese, all of which I would prefer to learn but are being reduced at my old school district to make room for more Spanish. (They did apparently add Chinese, though; I'll give them that.) I'm not saying it's bad to learn other languages; all I'm saying is it's stupid that one language is taking over opportunities to learn other ones, especially when I've never even seen someone around where I live who I'd need to communicate with in Spanish. And no, of course I don't hate English; it's not stopping anyone from learning languages they actually want to learn. You completely missed the point of my post.
