Something Is pretentious when you making usually unjustified or excessive claims.

Anyway. I'm back from The Hunger Games. I honestly didn't like It.
That's not even close to what it means. And even if it was, what "claims" did I make and how were they "unjustified" or "excessive"? I don't think I even claimed anything, much less excessively or unjustifiably.
Anyway... did you read the book? Can't remember if you said that already or not.

Be that as it may... How was what Stormy said pretentious at all?
"You are in my seat! Do you not know who I am?! I am your superior! Now get out of my way!"
Now that's pretentious!

Secret of N.I.M.H was pretty faithful to the book. The book did elaborate more on the serum they injected to the rats. Also
Other than that It was pretty faithful.

Re: General Discussion 5
Yeah, I've seen some cases where it is pretty faithful. But the majority of the time a lot gets cut/changed due to time constraints. Hard to cover 300 pages of material in under 2.5 hours. Also there's often exposition that happens via a narrator that they can't pull off so easily in films so they have to work around that

Re: General Discussion 5
Oh cool, this sounds fun. Be right back with my results
edit: not to be technical, but Baldur's Gate is D&D, just in video game form. It and Neverwinter Nights were released under the D&D license
edit again: Neutral good.

Cool test, I was just thinking about this alignment stuff the other day.
My result (large image)
Kind of surprised. I thought I'd be more neutral than lawful.

Wait. People usually complain that movies are not like the corresponding
book. Why are we complaining that they are the same? (Oxymoron?)

Re: General Discussion 5
I don't think we're complaining about it, Latias fan is just stating that he feels he didn't need to read the book because the movie is the same. I think

I’m back...ish....Its complex imp going back down shorty again add but furry must say transfer from media to film are 2 different things so saying “book sucks, film, sucks" cannot make since at all no matter how faithful you are to anything the 2 things just cannot be compared in the same since because there are both different medias.
EG Game to film.
This always sucks, but just because the Film was bad does not mean the game was bad at all same goes for book to film.
Welcome to Nya Nya Nya please just call me Tatsumina no Mikoto Cocona! NYAMO!!

Mortal Kombat was O.K. It wasn't good but It was at least tolerable compared too other video game movies.
Annihilation was terrible though.

I'm reading the book right now in school, and it has yet to appeal to me. But that's what I said about Freak the Mighty and Al Capone Does My Shirts, and those ended up being good. We might watch the movie when we're done with the book.
