I like C, because it can do much more things than Java and C also provides more freedom. At school, we learn only Java and I always complain about something that Java is missing. The function names can seem a little bit strange, because they contain shortcuts (maybe for faster writing of code), but you will get used to them. I think that for example fgets means file-get-string. Don't worry, libraries for high level programming in C (for example gfx) are easier to read. The only thing I don't like is taking care about memory leaks...
Sometimes playing Spyro games is useful for programming. For example I saved about 50 lines of complicated code, because I thought how did the developers made it in Spyro games and I made it similar way and it worked much better.

That extra freedom can really be a problem for someone like me who isn't used to having it yet. I've found that with Java, I'll get a lot more compile time errors than in C, where the compiler won't always catch my dumb mistakes at all and will just execute normally with obviously messed up results, or even worse, the most vague error message ever: Segmentation fault. >_> C assumes you know what you're doing, but if you don't, you're in trouble.

Yes, that is true. (in C) Once I got Segmentation fault, but the mistake wasn't on the line where it was printed, so debugger was useless and it took me about 20 minutes until I found out where the mistake was - the mistake was there about a month without any error, until I swapped two declarations... (it was array out of bounds).

Wow The Legend of Heroes final boss is probably the most poorly designed final boss in the history of video games.

Basically. You are literally forced to cast Anti-Magic. A spell that negates magic completely. The final boss only casts magic. His magic can instantly kill you in 1-2 hits. Do the math.

I don't get it. =/ Maybe it means I need to find a better way to debug. You're lucky with it only taking 20 minutes; I suck at debugging so it'll take me hours sometimes. XD

i remember playing a game on the GBA back when i still had my GBA and it wasn't lost, where the entire game consisted of standing there and casting attacks at different people. it was a Megaman Battle Network game. which is wierd, because those games were so open. you could go so many places in those.
