Skyrim
I just recently got Skyrim, and I've been playing the game a lot lately. I have never invested in this game before, but I'm glad that I have started now. This game is awesome.
I hear some bigger fans of Elder Scrolls games complain about predictability in the storylines, but since I'm new to the this particular RPG series, everything is doing g a good job of surprising me.
Anyone else have this game?

Re: Skyrim
First Elder Scrolls game I've heard off. The series looks good from what I've seen of this game. I've been watching a let's play on youtube of it. It really is an amazing and stunning looking game!
Huge fan of Elder Scrolls now!

Re: Skyrim
Playing it as well. Since you're new to Bethsoda games Riverhippo. You should probably know that Bethsodas storylines aren't the strong points in their games(If anything It's the weak point) They put more attention to the exploration and quests instead.

Re: Skyrim
I hope the charictor creations more simple, I donno, its just because on Oblivion when I made one from scratch...they never seemed right, so I pressed Random untill I got a decent one then simply tweeked em up.

Re: Skyrim
It looks really interesting. To be honest, I've just been watching a YouTube playthrough since I'm too cheap to buy the game myself.

It's not the kind of game where you watch a play through. There are an infinite amount of ways to play it, and the only play through that would be relevant would be a walkthrough of the main quest.

Re: Skyrim
Yeah I understand that. I find myself thinking I would have done something completely different if it was me playing. I'm just hesitant to dish out $60 for a style of game I may or may not like, since I haven't played any open-world RPG games before.

I know what you mean. I have the money for it (won't say how much), and
I'm also hesitant when buying a new game. Before I get a new job, I can't go
places throwing my money around.

Re: Skyrim
My roommate keeps getting in my face about how he's doing levels I haven't done yet. As if to say that means he's farther along in the game than I am. LOL, noob.
I am really enjoying this game. I only wish I could use the pony mods for my PS3 copy.

Re: Skyrim
I have to admit that I'm really rather disappointed with the Guilds in this game.
With nearly every Guild, after just a few quests in they're jumping to promote you to the Leader position.
"College of Winterhold: You killed the Wizard who killed the Arch-mage. YOU'RE A PERFECT REPLACEMENT FOR HIM!!!!"
"The Dark Brotherhood: ONE MISSION INTO GUILD QUESTLINE- "You... random new member who just climbed into my coffin... you're clearly the one I've been waiting for. YOU ARE NOW LISTENER. THE HIGHEST RANK AVAILABLE IN THE DARK BROTHERHOOD. Congrats. All the hard work was clearly worth it."
I haven't done the Companions or Theives Guild yet. But i have a feeling the leaders will both have heart attacks and die. Making me the most logical choice for leader >_>

Re: Skyrim
The only part of Skyrim I actually saw was when I watched my friend fight a
dragon. Wow, it looks hard to do. He kept getting killed. But the visuals of the
game are well done, despite it being based off of fantacy and not real environments.

Re: Skyrim
"People always enjoy a good fable. M'aiq has yet to find one, though. Perhaps one day."
And he returns in Skyrim. Will find and stalk him if it's the last thing I do.

I haven't encountered M'uiq yet. Though I have encountered the Headless Horsemen.
