^ Pretty much that. They don't have sexualities because they weren't written to have them. Rainbow Dash isn't lesbian or straight or any other sexuality: it's simply undefined because it's not in the show's canon.

I always figured the ponies are like the catgirl race in Final Fantasy 11.

Okay, those two characters are, (and I guess you could argue Rarity with the whole Blueblood thing) but the point still stands with the rest of the cast. tongue

I think most of the main characters have been shown to have parents.

That, or they simply have not been introduced. There are a lot of characters in
the show, so it wouldn't surprise me if some of them have not been introduced.

Try saying that to the nuts who think snow white teaches girls to sleep around with 8 men. Im sorry but im not sure wich vertion of the film they grew up with but im pritty sure it must of been a 18+

Heh, "mating".

I suppose that argument holds true if you don't ever want to expand a universe (check it out, there's no an) into headcanon territory. But if you think about it, the gender imbalances we've seen are extremely unlikely to be just chance. If you want to think, there has to be an explanation somewhere.

I'm not sure, but I think the gender imbalances were less extreme in the other cities we've seen. The conclusion? Ponyville is a hotspot for lesbians. This, of course, doesn't stop there being straight couples, like Mr. and Mrs. Cake present, or single straight fillies (oh this is so perfect). Which leads me to wonder, which of the mane 6 chose to come to Ponyville when equally suitiable alternatives existed? Pinkie Pie for certain, and probably Rainbow Dash too. Applejack and Twilight didn't really have an alternative. Which leaves us with Fluttershy and Rarity. Did they choose Ponyville because they were attracted by the idea of a largely lesbian town? Who knows?

Also, this is all basically the intellectual equivalent of fingerpainting with whatever we find in our intestines. Just so we're clear.

I don't remember. I think the genders were less unbalanced, at least. I should probably look at this stuff before basing arguments off of them, but I'm tired and the six-hour sleep schedule is cutting into my poker skills. Which have become relevant. Yeah, a friend and I are going to play a proper poker game, and if I win, he has to watch the entire first season of MLP. If I win, and convert him, I'll have to put it forward as the most awesome conversion of all time. Will remember the last few hands, because our games always seem to end in nail-biting showdowns.
