Backup Plan?

Whenever this site is down, I propose we post on Ponychan's /www/ board.  We use the same usernames (and use tripcodes).

Re: Backup Plan?

Or you know, just go without contact with each other for a few days. It's not a really big deal.

Re: Backup Plan?

go 10 posts without mentioning ponies.

we'll even count out the official "MLP" thread.

so, 10 posts without mentioning ponies in threads that aren't about ponies.

Re: Backup Plan?

Maybe we should have sort of a backup site in case something happens to this one. Maybe just proboards or something until I can afford a real one. I wonder if that would make SR mad though. =/

Re: Backup Plan?

Does the admin ever come here anymore?  we have one active mod and that's basically it.

Re: Backup Plan?

As far as I know he barely does. He sometimes realizes when it's down and gets it back up, but (as we've seen) sometimes it'll just stay down for days and he apparently doesn't notice.

What would you guys think of the backup site idea? I need to know if anyone would use it before I get it "approved" and set up and all that.

Re: Backup Plan?

He will never make me admin. I am 100% sure of this. Otherwise I would agree that that would be the best course of action.

Re: Backup Plan?

Yeah, it would be something like that. Proboards is similar in that you don't have to pay for hosting.

Re: Backup Plan?

im sure ya'll will criticize me for this, but I'm gonna say it anyways.  I've been looking for a Skylanders forum to berth, but I haven't seen one yet.  I imagine that if were to move forums or start a new one or whatnot, they would geared towards classic Spyro, which is fine.  However, classic Spyro fansites get no hits anymore.

Re: Backup Plan?

Not sure if this is really relevant since I haven't been around much but as far as I'm aware if you want to make a website based upon something else that has nothing to do with Spyro then by all means go for it. If you want to make your own website about bronies or whatever then go do it. If you want to make one about Skylanders go ahead and do it. Technically speaking this site is backed up with databases but in terms of the users getting together somewhere else that's why things like facebook or proboards were invented. Not that hard to do really.

Re: Backup Plan?

Tis a good idea, but in the back of mind, I feel like there is something wrong with having a back-up forum... I mean, it seems kind of pointless to have aback-up forum considering that if we had an active admin, we wouldn't need one to begin with. I think we should just get a more active person to help with the admin duties or just create a completely new forum.

I mean, when you get down to it, if he is showing such little attention that the forum can drop out randomly all the time without being fixed till a few days/weeks later, then he obviously doesn't care about his forum users.
