What chapter are you on? Also you don't really need to grind at all in the game.
??? I don't know what game you played but it not ressonence of fate.
As long as you alternate between handguns and machineguns and grenades, You can pretty much be near the max level(300) by the end of the game.
Also you guys go google search "do a barrel roll". Something awesome happens if you do
Also my buddy HCbailly has startted his LP of Radiant Historia.
I would suggest following his advice at the beginning.

Stormy wrote:Could a driver really be the problem before the OS even starts, though? There's nothing wrong with my sound at all after it boots.
Ohh, I read that as "Starts beeping when I get past the login window."
Those are normal system beeps that tend to occur on certain hardware sets. There are two ways to disable it other than ripping out the system-beep speakers (useless thing anyway, since they only beep as indicators). One is to edit the black list and tell your computer to ignore the beepers. Open up your command prompt (should be alt-f2) and type one of the following 3 commands:
If you have GNOME installed: gnomesu gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf If you have KDE installed: kdesu gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf If you have neither: gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf*If I screwed up and none of these commands do anything, then you are free to hit me. Open up a text editor and do your best to find that stupid file.*
Then add this to your file at the end:
#Disable integrated speaker blacklist pcspkrAfter you save, the next time you start it up, it shouldn't beep (unless it turns out to be something actually related to the sound card, not the internal speaker). This does not affect your normal speakers at all, and generally the integrated speaker is just for troubleshooting problems at startup or shutdown.
Am I correct in assuming that the '#' character is a comment marker and the text after it does nothing? If so, that line is already in the file. I already tried running a command that was supposed to disable it.
But I don't see how it could possibly be a sound card driver; it sounds like a hardware beep and it happens during the boot. And why would it be beeping in the first place?
The closest thing I could find to my problem in searches was this, but when I searched for "usplash," nothing came up.
Pretty much given up on this, but I think I've found a few solutions. Don't turn that computer off. Or reinstall Windows. ![]()

Yep, the # indicates a comment line.
If so, that line is already in the file. I already tried running a command that was supposed to disable it.
Really? Did you put that there before or was it in there by default? I'm using a slightly older version of Ubuntu, so that would come as a nice surprise to me.
But I don't see how it could possibly be a sound card driver;
It probably isn't. I got the impression from your first post that it was happening after logging in and that it was coming from your sound speakers.
it sounds like a hardware beep and it happens during the boot. And why would it be beeping in the first place?
Generally the speaker goes off to give some sort of acknowledged output during times where a console can't be used, such as startup or shutdown.
The closest thing I could find to my problem in searches was this, but when I searched for "usplash," nothing came up.
If you are using a newer version of Ubuntu (I believe it is 10.04+), USplash doesn't even exist. In its place is the bootsplash software called Plymouth. However, unless you are only getting the beeps when the splash screen comes up, I doubt this is the cause of the problem.
Pretty much given up on this, but I think I've found a few solutions. Don't turn that computer off. Or reinstall Windows.
Windows? Blech! :-P
Is there a specific number of beeps? Usually the number of beeps indicate what it's trying to tell you. Post your computer specs and blacklist file here. I'll look into it and find out the problem.

I don't know if it was already there or not; it might have been. I'd never looked at that file until now. I just assumed that a command I tried before might have put it there. *shrug*

Well yeah, this question was assuming you were still saying it's a driver problem.

Yeah, it's 11.10. That would at least explain that, then.

Hey, I happen to like Windows, thank you very much.
And there's no specific number of beeps; it just keeps beeping until the login screen shows up. Anyways, yeah, Acer Aspire One AOA150, 989.6 MiB memory, Intel Atom CPU N270 @ 1.60GHz × 2, 32-bit OS, (if you need my graphics, sorry, no idea) and here:

Okay, give me a few moments... It's not that hard, I just need to create a few transform inputs as a javascript injection. These guys should have been able to do this in 20 minutes tops.
EDIT: Okay, easiest way is to use a javascript injection:
//For firefox:
-moz-transform: rotate(360deg);
-moz-animation-name: barrelRoll;
-moz-animation-duration: 2s;
-moz-animation-iteration-count: 1;
//For Chrome:
-o-transform: rotate(360deg);
-o-animation-name: barrelRoll;
-o-animation-duration: 2s;
-o-animation-iteration-count: 1;
//For Safari:
-webkit-transform: rotate(360deg);
-webkit-animation-name: barrelRoll;
-webkit-animation-duration: 2s;
-webkit-animation-iteration-count: 1;Whichever one you use, put it in a javascript element and call it in a single function. Parameters should be self evident. Adjust the duration and iterations as you want. Keep rotate at 360deg or you will have a lopsided page.
This is the same code that Google uses. Granted, they put it all in a single function (requiring about 6 more lines ignoring whitespace), but I don't think it's worthy as saying it's 'difficult'.

You realize for someone who doesn't know any programming languages, that would, in fact, still be considered "difficult"? Not for a bored Google employee, obviously, but still.
Here's a challenge for you, anyway: make it work in Internet Explorer. ![]()
Btw, did you figure anything out with my beeping laptop?

You would have to be a miarcle worker to actually get Internet Explorer to work. Much less add anything to it.

Re: General Discussion 5
Lol yup, Internet Explorer is a pain in the butt. Any time I develop something, it'll work fine in any screen resolution and any browser EXCEPT freaking IE. Blargh. I've heard IE9 isn't as terrible, though.
I had an assignment once to write something in Javascript. The professor provided the code and said we would get extra credit if we could get it to work in IE. Somehow it worked in IE without having to change anything, so we all got free extra credit.

Re: General Discussion 5
He should have specified which version of IE. I'm sure it would have had
issues in an older version of IE. Maybe that's what he was talking about?
I gave up on IE mid last year because some links and other random functions
wouldn't work. I got Chrome, and I not longer have issues.

Yeah, I think that's what happened: he tested it last when IE8 was out and never bothered to try it on 9.
My dad gets mad if anyone uses IE on his computers because apparently it has tons of security flaws and he's really paranoid about that kind of thing. He all but uninstalled IE on the family computer.

Fine, here is your little copy-paste thingy-ma-bob :-P . Put it in URL bar:
javascript:(function(){var s=document.createElement('style');s.innerHTML='@-moz-keyframes barrelRoll { 100%25 { -moz-transform: rotate(360deg); } } @-o-keyframes barrelRoll { 100%25 { -o-transform: rotate(360deg); } } @-webkit-keyframes barrelRoll { 100%25 { -webkit-transform: rotate(360deg); } } body{ -moz-animation-name: barrelRoll; -moz-animation-duration: 2s; -moz-animation-iteration-count: 1; -o-animation-name: barrelRoll; -o-animation-duration: 2s; -o-animation-iteration-count: 1; -webkit-animation-name: barrelRoll; -webkit-animation-duration: 2s; -webkit-animation-iteration-count: 1; }';document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(s);}());Here's a challenge for you, anyway: make it work in Internet Explorer.
First Windows? Now Internet Explorer?
Let me guess, next you want me to make a HLSL layer in DirectX using C# in the .NET framework?
Btw, did you figure anything out with my beeping laptop?
I'm at a loss on that. However, it's probably because you're using a laptop with processing power than my watch. I'd say you may want to start thinking about investing in a new laptop. Or even a netbook.

1. What does Windows have to do with this?
2. IMO any good code intended for online use should be compatible with all modern browsers, even crappy ones like IE. You and I might not use IE, but a lot of people do, and if your code doesn't work for them you're isolating a good portion of potential visitors. I don't like IE at all and wouldn't spend any time testing in it if not for that.
3. And come on, it's just Javascript in a browser, not... whatever the heck that complicated stuff is that you just said. XD I meant it as rhetorical problem (if that makes any sense) anyway.
Stormy wrote:Btw, did you figure anything out with my beeping laptop?

LOL, now by "watch" do you mean "iPhone"?
I highly doubt my processing power is to blame, but nice try. It's kind of a weak processor, sure, but with everything else besides that beeping I have had no issues. And how would low processing power cause something like that, anyway?
Btw, I do have another computer that I mostly reserve for programming and other tasks that require more processing power. The netbook's just my casual internet browsing computer that I leave on all the time. I bought it senior year of high school when I didn't have the slightest clue about computer specs because it was "cute" and inexpensive, but it's mostly served me well for what I've expected of it. And it's kind of my baby since it's the first computer I've ever owned.
You could just say "I don't know" without insulting my machine; I won't look down on you by any means since I don't have a clue either. ![]()
