RIP, Maggie the Doberman. 15 years old...born 1996, died September 13th, 2011.
15 years is pretty long. Only very healthy and low-stressed dobermans can live that long. Despite his death, I'm sure he was happy all through his life.

Hey GibbyBoy. I feel bad for the loss, I know what it feels like to lose an old
family pet. I had a cat that died at 15 years of age. Though it is sad to lose
someone [or something, in this case] that was cherished and loved, life must
move on its normal course. Maybe you'll find a new dog, and keep it for 15
years until it is time for that pet to ... go.

Mine recently passed away too... it truthfully was a tragic sight... but, at least he is free of pain and suffering... :'(
