also the pilot is an hour because the first episode leaves off with a cliffhanger.

I thought I might ask this question as i'v been wondering about...

Sponge bob ((fromwhat I hear)) fell down hill when it became a "big hit" so are you guys worried the same will happen to MLP? and If the next sesson is just horse dung ((pardon the pun)) how will you react?

I heard Lauren Faust is going to step down from her position and be an consultant producer i think. So with any luck executive meddling will ruin the show and end this fad. Also Spongebob went downhill after the movie.

^ Keep in mind, again, that it's a kids' show and most people watch it for the funny interactions between the characters and not the amazing plot. That is one thing I'll admit: the plot of most of the episodes is pretty predictable for the most part, but really, what cartoon isn't?

Good question, a lot of fans are worried about that, especially after Lauren Faust left, but personally I'm really not. It sounds like the team is aware that they could ruin in by putting in too much fanservice and isn't going to adjust the show to match the new audience at all.

It's not gonna last forever anyway, and even if it does start to suck as early as the second season, well, at least the first season was good.

how can you even put fan servise in a show like MLP? im anime its pritty obvios when they do it; but whats the "fanservise" in MLP long mains?

^ I didn't like Rarity at all until she got a few of her own episodes. Episodes centered around individual characters will eventually give them more "depth," if you could ever call cartoon characters deep. That's probably why a lot of people who just pick random episodes and start watching in the middle of the series tend to not like it as much. It doesn't mean as much to them because they don't know the characters yet.

It'll get better. Or it might not, depending on your tastes.

It just makes no sense and it gets in the way of the plot. The writers pretty much wrote themselves into a wall and couldn't get out so they had to do an "*bleep* pull" and do some thing that's just flat out impossible. Ponies have no thumbs and yet Applejack can apparently hang on to Kaede to save her.

Then again this is a show where magic flat out exists so I'm sure there's some *bleep* magic reason for it. It's still *bleep*.

How the scene should of gone: Kaede keeps falling and eventually falls off the cliff. Rainbow Dash quickly catches her, she can go pretty fast after all. There i just solved the "wall" the writers had that led them to that moment of impossibility.

Those episodes were the pilot, they served the sole purpose of selling the show, all the following episodes are when the characters become more interesting.

As for being put off from enjoying the show by the physics of it... what kind of cartoons did you watch as a kid? I know mine didn't even bother with things like that.

First of all, I've already mentioned how this is not a serious cartoon like Don Bluth cartoons are. As for the Cartoon Network cartoons, those weren't very loyal to the laws of physics if I remember correctly, but that didn't stop you from watching them. I really don't see why physics has anything to do with enjoying a cartoon...
