I didn't realize this is a game. If it is, I certainly don't understand how to play it.

Wait until Maxwell comes back and explains; if he says it's a game and he doesn't want you spamming in it, stop spamming in it.

I'd have thought it was one of those games where you type a word related to the previous word in some way, i.e. Spam, tins, aluminium, silicon, etc. But basketball to bag? Clearly, my assumption has been disproved.
