You know, next year I'm taking this essay thing, right. It has the value of a mid-level qualification. And to get it, I just have to do an essay on anything. Absolutely anything. I could do it on sumo wrestling, drug dealing, Heavy Rain, a camping trip, the status of the EU, etc. But I've decided (for now) to do it on the differences in educational systems around the world.

Good. A direct interview will give the project some authenticity. Especially since America is notable in that it spends excessive amounts on its schools, but still isn't really a world beater.

That's true they spend a lot of money but in the end they still cut back on teachers and other programs. There used to be a drivers class in my school to study for the test. That class is gone man.
