No. That's the point. Only eye movements carry into lower dreamstates. But the sensation of breathing is carried up. If you suffocate yourself in a dream, you don't suffocate yourself in real life, and the sensation of breathing is not impaired. Of course, if you're asleep and being suffocated, you'll stop breathing inexplicably in real life. That'd be scary.

Can't you just find other ways to kill yourselve while in a dream? Like falling.Take a Leap of Faith in your dreams.

You know, I've found my reality-warping ability to be less than absolute. I couldn't open a chasm for some reason. Could change a dog's breed, though.

[i]Many times that doesn't work. Your ear tubes don't change at all, so many times it won't feel like you are falling. So unless it is a good couple hundred feet above ground, you won't wake.
