Happy 4th of July ...

Yep. Fireworks are banned here in Texas for this 4th of July. It's so screwed
up. I should get a gun and shoot flammable cans to make my own fireworks.

Darn it I'm to late. But hope everyone had fun! Sucks when you can't celebrate.

That sucks. These fireworks up at Hampton, PA, were amazing. My dad kept saying ''Best 16 minute firework show I've ever seen.'' I will post it on YouTube and show you where to watch it.

Think about that statement for a minute. It's kinda true. The 4th is celebrating out Independence and those to fight for us and sacrificed their lives for us. Now fireworks being banned may not be a big deal to everyone, but the fireworks are more or less a tradition. So by banning fireworks and not at least allowing them to be fired off on the 4th of July is banning a tradition that celebrates what we stand for, right? Or perhaps there was an actual valid reason for the banning and they were just banned due to a high rate of a of accidents or something and they felt the need to prevent it. I wouldn't know.

I think they were banned in some places because it's too dry, not because they're trying to "restrict freedom" or something stupid like that.

We still had them up north, though. I saw some pretty amazing ones with KingLambda in Wisconsin.

She's right, guys. I didn't post this thread because the ban "lessens our
freedom." It really is too dry over here to be setting off fireworks. Also,
there's a lot of stupid people here that don't know how to use fireworks safely.

I'm simply saddened with the fact that I don't get to blow stuff up. Of
course, my friends and I know how to safely do that. We also keep a fire
extinguisher just in case of [duh] a fire.

Re: Happy 4th of July ...

I like making explosions, but when there's no flammables nearby, I go for elementary chemistry.  Baking soda, vinegar, and a bottle with the cap is fun.  I blew up a water bottle like a balloon, and then chopped the cap off with an axe because we couldn't twist it off.

Re: Happy 4th of July ...

Oh yeah, and half of Pittsburgh is flooded from rain, so we were lucky to get fireworks going yesturday. People nearly became waterlogged. My family was in that group <_< That night blew hard.
