Yeah, he's the only male character with a meaningful role. He's expected to commit atrocities in the second season and be caught by a policewoman, tried by an all-female court, and then hanged with a pink rope.

I would think the reason there aren't many male characters would be obvious: their toys wouldn't sell. Little girls want to brush the hair on their My Little Pony dolls, and what fun would that be if they had short brown hair like that? tongue

Yeah. And the few male characters that do exist, such as Big Macintosh there and Spike, are all portrayed positively. In fact, Spike is probably my favorite character, and I like Big Macintosh a lot too.
