but I don't see it as any kind of trolling, just a harmless way to say "We don't care if you hate us."

If you've ever been to ponychan, you'd see that they're constantly using the "love and tolerate" thing. Even when no trolls are around, they're always reminding everyone to "love and tolerate" everyone else. It's just what they do.

Yes, there's no way to know unless we're told, but automatically assuming "troll!" is unreasonable, especially since your post was what provoked the so-called "trolling" in the first place. It's also not usually good to immediately make negative judgements about people's motives when there could be more to it that you don't know about.
Anyway, this thread needs more ponies and less walls of text.
