I haven't seen any clones of Jazz, other than the 2.5 mod which I can't find, and a fan-made browser version, in which you control a green square in a small eternal-engine type stage.  If you're talking about levels, yeah, there are a lot of fan-made levels.  Anyway, it's been a long time since there has been a real Jazz Jackrabbit game.  And I'm sure it wouldn't suck like DNF.

Epic games doesn't do those kinds of games anymore though. And besides, what would it fit in as? How could anyone modernize a game that was practically Mario and Sonic combined with a gun? Yea, it is fun when you compare it to the other games around back then, but I don't see where it could possibly fit with gamers today.

Maybe as a iPhone game? I could sort of see something like that being good...

HL2 Episode 2 was released in 2007.  I'm sure other unreleased games have been longer in development than Episode 3

Difference is that we KNOW episode 3 is coming out, but we don't know WHEN. It could be in a few months, next year, or 5 years from now.

Re: We are about to see video game history tomorrow

Just because they haven't done any Jazz games in a while doesn't mean they can't start again now.  It would scare Sonic Team into making better games.  It could be a revival of the space mammal sub-genre.  It could be the reason Starfox games make a comeback.

Think of a side-scrolling Sonic the Hedgehog with a gun.

Re: We are about to see video game history tomorrow

Jazz is better than Earthworm Jim.  There are annoying crows like in Earthworm Jim, and Spaz has a gun that looks like his, he even blows up like him.  The game borrows from so many others that it is one of the most memorable games ever.  There is so much potential for a new Jazz FPPS.  You don't even know.

The game failed on so many levels.

mah its a case of if they did evolve it to todays standerds.

They'd *bleep* about it.

if they kept it retro...they still *bleep* about it.
