Section Rules

Some users have brought it to our attention that this section is a bit out of control. No one is really to blame for it because we haven't really had any concrete rules in this section before, but the other mods and I thought it would be appropriate to put in some guidelines for this section so everyone could enjoy it.

1. Forum rules about what content is and isn't age appropriate still apply here.
2. If you make a game thread, include in the title of your thread that it is a game if you don't want it to be spammed.
3. Don't spam threads that are marked as game threads.
4. Don't flood the section. This means don't make too many new threads at once. There's no formal limit to how many you can make, but use common sense. If you're bumping too many recent threads on to page 2, it's probably too much. If you take up half the page with a bunch of threads you made on the same day, it's definitely too much.
5. Don't make everything you post complete nonsense. If the thread has an actual subject that the OP wants to talk about, try to stay on that subject instead of shouting random words. You can still spam like you usually do, just respect the direction other people want their threads to go in and don't spam everything.

Edit: These rules are pretty much useless now thanks to the addition of the Forum Games section.

Yes. As long as whoever created the topic doesn't mind it, you can spam as much as you want.

We quite simply don't want to see the games or what not that you guys use this section for or any other topics get completely wiped out by a rush of completely useless topics. We are attempting this for the benefit of you guys the users. If you feel that these rules will bother you too much please feel free to contact one of use through Private Messaging or on the IRC.

To be fair, it's not like we get game threads very often. Neo's pokemon thing was the only one I think I've ever seen here. So, the status quo remains largely unchanged.

I haven't made any other game threads recently BECAUSE of the mass amounts of random nonsense. I use to have multiple forum games posted.

For example, I could bring back the largest quote in the world thread.

actually, there's also that lyrics game, which got derailed. and there's Post Your Desktop, which isn't really a "game", but would logically require the same regulations. and that thing where you write messages backwards. and "Guess The Chorus". and i assume there are more out there as well.

actually, in my infinite spamming, i kind of wish they hadn't gotten derailed; they were fairly fun.

you know what else is fun? unintentional alliterations.

but alas, the rules are upon us, their chokehold will grasp me anon. i will, on possibly one of my only serious notes in the history of my membership on this website, obey these new rules. not that i think i've ever broken any of these rules to begin with; they seem to be common sense.

Also I'd just like to point out that you can continue to use this section as you always have. Just not in threads where it is unwanted.
