Re: General Discussion 5
I also said "or, blahblahblah." because I figured it is most likely not an
opinion. But to me, it seems like people's arguments about whether or not
White is a color is simply based off of what kind of perspective they have of
it (or in other words: what kind of background they have). Just like my link
says, an artist may see it as a color and a scientist may see it as not ...
hence my idea about it being an opinion. I don't think us humans have a
solid explanation for such an argument. But ... I just found this. Wikipedia says that white is a color:
[Link]
That's why I gave multiple definitions of color. Some say white is a color, some don't.
However, none of those reasons are why I don't see white as a color. It is because our brain doesn't see it as a color. Our mind registers color and light intensity as two different things. We have 2 different cells in our eyes that measure light. Cones, that measure wavelengths. And rods that measure intensity.
Because of this, our eyes do not see white as a color, and our brain processes them separately. Because color just an abstract construct humans invented to define itself, I personally feel it makes sense to go by how our minds work, since it was that which invented it.
Not to mention that is how it is socially told. When someone says a picture has a "lack of color", they don't mean lack of black or white. When someone says a "colored TV", they don't imply white as a color.

Re: General Discussion 5
ponies suck.
Does that mean we all win this one?
no, we all lose.
actually, Neotyguy said himself that white is a combination of Colors With A Title I Am Too Lazy To Recall. in that sense it is a color because a combination of colors simply equals a new color. that's true for other non-primary colors, why not this one?
this will end on Neotyguy's own word: who's side are you on? the side of the scientific color spectrum, or the side of white simply being some kind of... messed up secondary color?
also, the game.

Not all discussions need to be an argument. Some of them could just expand on an explanation. I think everyone's learned SOMETHING about color now anyways.
also, the game.

Sweet. Good. I don't like arguments. I think I was more neutral when it
came to the discussion. For something like that, it just takes a couple of
"Googles" to get the facts right.

I find it stupid that you all take so much pride in enjoying this little girls cartoon, even if it is above average, it's still kind of pathetic.
There, now were not all in agreement.

You do realise you're posting on a Spyro fan forum, right?
Nothing wrong with being a fan of something, though I can appreciate that people posting ponies all the time is annoying for you, I don't think it's pathetic.

Re: General Discussion 5
"Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up." -CS Lewis
Couldn't care less that it's a little girls' show to be perfectly honest. Sorry you think it's pathetic, but not everyone is more concerned about who the target audience is than the actual quality of something. Besides, you're excited for Skylanders, aren't you? ![]()

By that logic, you could say "It is fine to be gay, but it's pathetic that you are proud of it."
(bringing in a one-sided controversial subject can make anyone sound like an inconsiderate jerk :-P )

I don't like MLP, but I still respect everyone who likes it. It's something they
like, and I am cool with that. It's not nearly pathetic. To tell the truth, I'd
rather get a girlfriend who enjoys MLP instead of a girlfriend who does drugs
and listens to Lady GaGa every day. Even though I'm not any sort of fan of
MLP, I still think it's a fairly cute show/game. It's not something to "go out of
your way" and make fun of someone for liking. That, and I think MLP fans
have great personalities ... almost like the show itself makes them have a
brighter outlook on life.
Dari was right. Look at the Spyro franchise. It was created as a kids' game,
but you see 20+ year-olds here that are obvious Spyro fans. I'm not mad at
you, I just want to let you know what kind of water you're wading through.

So by you logic people who don't watch MLP do drugs and listen to lady gaga...at the same time!?
Plus like I said it's fine you like it but, fury’s and gays are guilty of this to, you flaunt it in everyone’s face like "Yeah I like MLP, what are you going to do about it?" nothing just shut up.

Re: General Discussion 5
Additionally, what's wrong with Lady Gaga? She makes some pretty cool videos, even if she is treading over ground covered by La Roux.

I don't think that's what he was saying. XD
Yeah, that does get annoying with any fandom. People just go around saying "SCREW THE HATERS" when there weren't even any "haters" in the first place and end up creating a hatedom in the process. *coughTwilightfandomcough* I don't think anyone on this forum is really guilty of doing this, though.
So, did anyone notice the forum was down for a while last night? I'm surprised no one's said anything about it yet. Something happened to the server; I think it was MySQL crashing?

Re: General Discussion 5
I feel like the words "haters" and "fanboys" are used way too often these days. You disagree with my interests, that makes you a hater. But then, if you like something I don't you're a fanboy. It just creates conflict where there doesn't need to be any. Those terms are meant for the extremes of liking or disliking something, not for everyone who has said opinion.
EDIT: I did notice the website being down. I kept checking back until it was finally back up XD

Re: General Discussion 5
i just cringe every time i see the word "hater" regardless. it reeks of a lack of something better to say, and sounds a bit immature. (or is it just because i automatically associate that word with YouTube comments?)

Indeed. I lose respect for people when that word is used in an argument. It's like they don't have any bigger guns so they resort to accusations of hate like a little kid.
As for my username, Stormy told me she could change it, so I asked her to do it for me. (Thanks Stormy!

Re: General Discussion 5
I have a job interview with Party City at 9 AM today. It's 6:57 AM at the
moment, so I thought I'd come here and let my "Internet family" know what
is going on before I hop in the shower. Wish me luck? I've been needing a
job for ... almost a year, so this is it. Now is the time.
Had a random memory from Gran Turismo 2.
