Re: General Discussion 5

Are you talking about this? I heard about that, but didn't know it was developed by IBM until just now.

One of my professors worked for IBM. She never talks about what she did there, though.

Of course. XD Although I don't like soda, I'm sure everyone else would appreciate it.

Yeah, I hear jobs in the video game industry are really hard to come by. It would be nice, but I'm not hopeful that it will happen. My major is computer science, so I'm going to be doing some kind of programming, though. I'd kinda like to do something with internet security if only because I freaking hate viruses and the idiots who write them. Other than that... I've got nothing. What'll probably end up happening is I'll have really limited options when I graduate and I'll just have take whatever is available.

Nowai! I'm going into computer science too!

I also like to make games, but I like AI development a lot funner and more practical as a job. I plan on doing that as a hobby though.

I live right up the road from you so you can get free soda anyways tongue

The only thing useful I can do is wire your computer lab for you big_smile I did manage to get pretty good at that.

Your statement is contradictory.  You say it is exact, but you also say it isn't.

I also am a CS major (Stormy and I first met in our freshman CS course). Your goals sound exactly like mine. While I'd like to have something to do with video game development, I would also like something with AI.

Always remember to put a disable function and an override function.  I don't want your AI to hack computers over the internet.  If the Computer Uprising happens, we know who gets the blame.

Just the same state. I suppose that's close compared to most. Rurik is close by as well, and I really should take a drive one day and annoy him simply because I'm bored.

It is exactly what I want to do, with more or less of a tolerance. So I would be exactly in that area, but in more parts of it.

I mowed my back lawn in 93*F temperature today. It was nice.

Oh, and I switched out my normal room lights with blue lights. It's just what
I like, but they're 25 watt; 25 watt bulbs don't give off enough light. It would
be a lot nicer if they were 40s.

Red - Cyan
Green - Magenta
Blue - Yellow

Your eyes start to adjust to absorb more color that you don't get a lot of. So if you are surrounded by a lot of blue then you will start absorbing more yellow light.

Most people don't even notice, but even if it 'seems' normal to you, it is very rare for someone to be 'even' all across the color circle. It's also funny, because people tend to actually pick their favorite color after the color their eyes adjust to absorb more of.

For example, I realized a few years ago I don't see as much green as most other people do because I spend so much time around green forests. I never noticed it myself, but because of this I see hues of blue, purple, and red very clearly compared to someone who grew up in, for example, an urban city.

If you ask why "This statement is false", then you are definitely not going to survive the robot apocalypse.

Actually, everything I say is false, including this statement.

If your statement says it is false even though you say it is a false
statement ... that means ... you are false. Hah. Do I win yet?

Also, regarding your post about eyes absorbing colors/person liking a color
they see often. I see white all of the time, but it is one of my least liked colors.

I'm sorry, I don't understand.

You can't tell what color your eyes adjust to without testing it out. And white isn't really a color. It is the presence of all negative colors and lack of positive.

EDIT: You know, I think we should have a second General Discussion thread. We already have a few conversations going on at once, and two threads would make it feel a whole lot more active.

Re: General Discussion 5

The good thing about forums is there can be more than one conversation going on at once at any time, especially in an open ended thread like this one, so there really isn't a need for two General Discussion threads. If an interesting topic that you'd like to discuss further arises from this thread, you can always make a new thread about that specific subject. Actually, that would be great; new threads are good for forum activity. smile

white's not a color? that's like saying purple's not a color because it's the presence of two other ones.
