Re: PSN Restoration Begins Now
I bet they had to recreate the entire PSN, which is why they need the new update XD.
Now then... The first one to try and turn this into a console war thread will be slow murdered, resurrected, and murdered again, resurrected, and then quickly murdered again. First time will be brutal and slow, second time would be pretty normal (like a stab to the chest or something), and the third time will be quick and painless, but you will know it's coming, so it would be kind of like psychological torture.

Wait, if that's what I was suppose to be aiming for, I got a better one:
If you start a console war, I will eviscerate your body to use your gastro-intestional track as a condom while I fornicate with your skull.

Not sure. US has got it up, I think, but UK is still waiting. Same with Australia I hear. They'll get round to us by tomorrow, I'm sure.

Re: PSN Restoration Begins Now
So I read the blog, and got all PS3'd up to see if i could log in, and I couldn't.
hmmm...
So, without too much frustration, I decided to look at the blog closer only to find out that the system is not rebooting all at once, but by region. They had a map of the united states and said that you will be able to log in as soon as your state 'lit up.'
None of them were lit. Are you friggin kidding me...
Later, I tried again, to find the entire map covered in bright green. Oh goodie, i thought. So I logged on, but only half-successfully. The PSN log-in said that I needed to follow instructions to reset my password, and that an e-mail has been sent to change it. Until I do this, I will not be able to log in my PSN account.
Well, I haven't got the e-mail yet, and niether have a load of other people. It says it would take up to 24 hours for the e-mail to send (if it ever does).
I kept on trying and looking at my inbox, and nothing has showed. One thing did change though:
Instead of it saying "You need to check you e-mail to reset your password" when I try to log in with my old password, It now says, "A server error has occurred."
Terrific.
So, a whole day of announcing that PSN is back online translates to me searching for answers throughout the day on why I can't use it. Sometimes, I think Sony is just playing a joke on us, at this point.
Here is a very relative video:

still? if it's on the PS3, it can't be that shocking that people still play it. is the gaming community's attention span that small? o_O because i know some people at school were honestly shocked that i still played games from 2 or 3 years ago. i mean, goodness, i don't even own a PS3.

It was actually quite fun when it went back online Sunday. Everyone that was playing online were people like me, gluing their eyes to their computer monitors waiting for confirmation e-mails and surfing through several playstion forums. That day, the lag was minimal (probably because few people where on the network, at the time) and everyone who was playing were for realz, meaning no n00bs. Casual gamers probably wouldn't notice for a couple more days.
