Epic Disclaimers
So I was viewing weather information on weather.com's interactive maping site. I was trying to find a lightning map, and I found one. And an extra window popped up with an epic disclaimer:
Experience has shown that the resolution, timeliness, and format in which lightning data are presented within various displays and products, does not provide a total solution with regard to addressing concerns regarding the presence of convective activity and/or lightning and their potential impact on the safety of personnel and/or safeguarding of facilities, whether it be of immediate or short term concern. Interpretation and application of the data, as well as any comparative analysis and/or prognosis or similar activities done by any user, are done so solely at the user's risk and have not directly or indirectly been implied, condoned or recommended by TWC or their suppliers.

We've been tolerant of furries.
We've been tolerant of fangirls who love anime shows.
We've been tolerant of those people who make godawful fanfics.
We've even been tolerant of you with your pony thing.
However, there is a time in everyone's life where they MUST be ridiculed for what they love. Your time started when you ruined our graceful language with a horrible pun.
You have been warned... We can't be responsible for what will happen next... That is MY epic disclaimer...

Re: Epic Disclaimers
I like it - why not just ridicule everything?
What is your obsession with language? The English language is hardly "graceful". I could understand someone saying the same about French, but really, English? Also, with the drama - come on - stop trying to make a big deal out of something on the internet. Get over it, is life so boring that you try to make the internet seem exciting?
Ontels, sure Neotyguy40 is over the top with language, but what about you - you don't even try to to place commas, are they too complex for you?
Then you Riverhippo - fine, you like ponies, we get it - that doesn't mean you have to expose us to them and assume that everyone else likes them too. Seriously, can you not find something better to do than pony-worship?

DIS SRS BIZNIZ!
Calm down guys.
Anyway, on topic, LOL about the disclaimer you posted, pretty over the top.
Funniest disclaimer I've seen is this one at the start of Fight Club (spoilered for language):

Because that makes people angry... And being angry is bad.

I was using the term graceful to be melodramatic and put emphasize on my speech. It's what I do. It's called using rhetorics. If you don't like it then stop making so much drama yourself.
And I sure hope your just using rhetorics too considering I almost actually laughed when you said the French language was graceful. I'll admit I only know English and Spanish, however, I think I would prefer to know Japanese, then German, then Russian, and then Chinese than to think of French as "graceful".
Ontels, sure Neotyguy40 is over the top with language, but what about you - you don't even try to to place commas, are they too complex for you?
But he communicates effectively. That's all that matters.

Us calm down? Have you even read our posts? I'm not even portraying any of my words outside a monotone. Maybe you're the one who should take a rest.

Considering his post count and the date he joined, I would say this isn't the first time it's happened.

Don't talk about tolerance if you don't even know what kind tolerance goes on around here.

But yeah, disclaimers. Drug commercials' disclaimers are the best. "Side effects may include dizzyness, fainting, coma, or death. Talk to your doctor about acytlcoralblarglesomething today!"

Re: Epic Disclaimers
Neotyguy40 - I thought it was fairly obvious I was making a joke - apparently not. My point was that there's no need to get so hyped up about one word.
Oh, and the picture renders fine for me - it's pretty big though.

Re: Epic Disclaimers
Thanks, ontels.
Has anybody read the warning label on a tube of toothpaste?

It says: "If more than used for brushing is acidentally swallowed, get medical help or contact your Poison Center immediately."
Most people's first reaction is this:
Wait, toothpaste is poisonous?

Keep out of the reach of children? What, are you supposed to put the toothpaste on the brush for them?

Toothpaste contains flouride, which is considered a drug. However, the FDA really makes this a lot more of a worry than it needs to be. Your body throws up the flouride before you have the chance to ingest even 1/8th the amount it would take to kill you.
My disclaimer:
WARNING: If you feel liquid running down your neck, relax! Lie on your back and apply immediate pressure to your temples. You are simply experiencing a rare reaction, in which the material emancipation grill may have the eartubes inside your head.
