Is Halloween becoming less of a holiday and more of a regular day?

I've questioned myself this a lot until tonight, and I said "yes". What happened?  I was walking around our neighborhood,
with my friend going around blocks and blocks and we actually got three times more candy from people ,because they weren't getting any trick or treaters lately and guess what?
We didn't even wear a costume! (We don't dress up.:/) Me and my friend were in the only ones in the neighborhood walking around at 8 o'clock.
I remember back in the day, maybe 2003 or 2004. People would go in their front lawn, put fog machines out, tables, and brews and handed candy,
people would blow fireworks some of the time. Now, it's no where near that. What happened to the good old days?  Are we now just sick and tired of holidays?

P.S.  We both don't do haunted houses or crazy attractions, we save that for the day before.

It kinda reminds me of SNL's skit where they made fun of local news stories that do nothing but scare parents into sheltering their children.  It's funny 'cause it's true.

It's still a pretty well celebrated holiday here. But yeah, I agree. Most holidays don't seem as fun as they used to, in my honest opinion.

My family still uses real Christmas trees for Christmas. I really don't like
[almost a hate] fake Christmas trees. Plus, real Christmas trees smell
amazing. I love stroking their branches and smelling them.

I would love a real Christmas tree, but my mum won't get one. We have a creamy-white one at the moment because it matches everything in the lounge. It looks very pretty with all the decorations on it, though. smile
