You seem to be a bit blind towards the Xbox 360 and its games. There are
already game[s] that are ready for Kinect. And these are not
just "hardcore" games that you may be thinking of. There are a lot of
games for the Xbox 360 that you might think would be on the PSIII or Wii.
And there are even games that use the Xbox Live Vision camera! Don't
expect stupid games like Call of Duty to use Kinect. There are many games
out there in the Xbox 360 world that would go quite well with Kinect.
On the MS website, there are 8 games being shown:
Dance Central - Party game
Kinectimals - Casual game
Kinect Sports - Party game
Kinect Joy Ride - Party/Casual game
Your Shape - Not really a 'Game', but if it was it would be casual.
Kinect Adventures - Party/Casual game
Zumba Fitness - Again, not really a 'Game'.
Sonic Freeriders - Borders on Party/Casual
I am aware there are going to be many more games, but I stand by what I said when I say that most 360 owners will not enjoy these kind of games. It's like trying to put Raving Rabbids on the PS3. Although I can still see that Freeriders game doing well, and possibly the Kinect Adventures.
Yes, they are serious. Better technology and more advanced technology
comes higher prices until time passes, causing the price to drop.
There is not much technology in the device itself. I am guessing production cost is just around $50. It just makes me wonder how much R&D they put into the software side of it, and how they expect people to pay that much.
Indeed. It looks very fun to use.
I was talking more about the actual APIs being released for it to developers.

Nintendo released Wii Sports 4 years ago, and most people I know who have a 360 or PS3 already have Wii. Somehow I don't think the Microsoft and Sony motion control products will get out of Nintendo's shadow.
